When I don't see the TV screen, I think Pimp My Ride is on because of the music. The show is pretty good. I watch it. For me, it's not a "must see". But the music is annoying.

I love the fact that there's no high school drama on the team, but the best part is the level of engineering they put into some of these builds is absolutely mind-boggling!

I absolutely love this show. The builds they do are like nothing else on TV. Bill has serious vision. It does a nice job showcasing creativity- he is always coming up with something new. They don't mess around with shop drama or cost negotiations with the customer which is refreshing. The interior guys are amazing. This is a great feel good car show- hope to see it renewed for season 4.

MotorTrend TV plays episodes of this show back-to-back in prime time until well after midnight. For instance, it's a Thursday evening at 7PM and they are showing nothing but Texas Metal on their channel until 5AM. THAT'S 10 HOURS! Why does this show demand so much airtime? Who paid off who to get this marathon? These thug-life wanna-bees are good at building totally impractical monster trucks for rappers and sports figures but how does that help the average enthusiast with his project or inform us about the history of Hot Rods? Why do we have to watch Bill in the long shorts kiss up to rich rappers and sports stars for back-to-back episodes? It's 7PM on August 31st, 2023 and MotorTrend TV for the next 10 hours is showing NOTHING BUT TEXAS METAL! OMG!
Who is running the programming? An idiot?

I've been watching these shows since day 1. What I love about this show is no money talk and no drama talk! Just straight gettin' it done! Apparently this is not what the mainstream wants, but it's what I freakin' love!

Haven't liked one build yet. These guys have talent and a great work ethic no doubt. But they build stuff a 16 year old with too much money would like. Not one practical truck yet. Huge wheels, skinny tires, whiney lift components, horrendous paint schemes. Think the L. A. lower-rider scene mixed with trucks that will never go off-road. And if they do, they'll break and get stuck. At least they'll have enough lights.

Any kind of car, any kind of vehicle, the show basically spend all the time showing from the junkyard car sometimes they got, or just standard...and before the end you have seen the build complete.wish i could build something as good as those cars.

Good show with no drama. I'm impressed with the metal fab they can do as well as the detailed interior work. I would use them if I could afford it. But, the background music sucks, and every other word out of Bill's mouth is 'thing' as in "we're gonna make this thing into something that this thing will be able to stand out from other things as we put this thing on the lift so we can work on this thing'. Sometimes it's best just to watch on mute.

Every time one of the guys says,"go ahead," everybody has to drink except the first person to yell "drink" after someone says it. E.g., "I'm gonna go ahead and get this tacked into place" or " we're gonna go ahead and block the body panels to get ready for paint."
Good luck making it to the end of an episode!

What happened to Tim? Bill wants everyone to think he and his crew is one big family until a member of the team thinks of branching out and trying his own thing, then finds himself ousted. I'm sure no one knows the truth except Tim and Bill. A true friend would support a member of your team branching out and being courageous enough to do your own thing. I use to enjoy this show, now I just resent it. Don't be hypocritical and project a culture at work and then turn your back on a guy who had been with you for years. A weak boss is someone who is afraid of losing his best talent. A great boss is someone who hopes he mentored his/her team to go on to bigger and better things - all the while paying homage to where they got their start.
They do some decent fab work.but as my granny always said,"just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you Should", like janking up a brand new zl1.my main issue and the reason I can't watch the show,is the background music.what high school band is that anyway?BOMP bomp BOMP bomp never did like the sound of a tuba.besides that does bill know how to use anything besides a pipe bender?I mean every last build has his signature bent pipe brackets all over the place whether it's a low rider or monster truck you can count on them to hang ridiculous looking... monkey bar looking things all over it.if it was my ride is tell him get that goofy looking crap off of it before somebody sees it.
Incredibly talented builders cranking out ridiculous gas guzzlers for idiots with too much money, e.g. That black on black Cadillac has 8,000 watts and Bluetooth. Suggestion for Motor Trend producers how about a reality program covering the subsequent crashes, and carnage of these overpowered cars and trucks and their jackass owners? Now that would be some reality programming.
They start working on a 1940 Ford pickup that they refer to as an F100. Wrong. The F series wasn't introduced until the all new body style in 1948. As others have commented , the music is also very annoying.
These guys are doing work comparable to work being done in Tijuana. It's nice to know that the advertisers are paying for it. I wouldn't. If they would have flushed the fuel lines in Ep.2 they would have cleaned out the system and discovered the leak at the fuel rail. Using bondo in door panels is just asking for it to crack in the near future. these guys act like armature's or is just the scripted cars they do by the producers. not going to watch this show.

What prompts these people to continue foisting garbage on us? This one is just one more in a long string of loser shows looking to emulate the first few seasons of Gas Monkey, but coming out like the crap Gas Monkey has become. There are plenty of car shows that don't glorify low-life excesses - this one doesn't even make for good background noise (the dialog sounds like it is from the writers of Duck Dynasty.
