Avis à la une
Mammootty was going through a patch for a small period and here,he is back with a bang. The megactor atlast got a superb role to enact his brilliance and as expected ,he has accepted it with both hands.A scintillating performance from Mammooty with his emotions and acting in a method which confuses audience and make them think whether he is the hero or the villain
On the performance side, Mammootty has given a well-balanced act. With a lot of mystery built around his character, the veteran actor didn?t give away anything. His casual smirk, sudden bust of anger and coquettish demeanor were a treat to watch. From the outset, one might feel that KK is not really a challenging character for an actor like Mammootty but it is his subtle performance that makes one think so. Another top notch performance came from Muthumani who enacted the role of Karthika?s mother. She was in brilliant form with her emotions and dialogues. She asked the questions that whole mothers of the state would like to be asked.Joy Mathew was good in his role and it was a decent performance from the heroine Karthika.
First of all , we must appreciate the screenplayist Joy Mathew. He has handled such a subject that our society is handling or going through in the current situation. His dialogues, his characterization and his brilliance in giving the important dialogues for an actress was also appreciable. Girish Damodar as a debutant has done a superb job but still he should have been a bit better but if we consider he as a debutant,we can ignore.First half goes in a good pace with thrilling mood and second half dropped its pace in Initial phase but Final 20 minutes were damn Excellent.

I dont know why would someone act in such a film with a very fragile storyline and the one which has a pace slower than a sloth. those who want towaste their 2 hours can go fot it
If Girish Damodar had trimmed his debut feature by 30 minutes it would have made for a more entertaining show. But still in its current form, Uncle is a great description of the current harried times we live in. Mammootty plays KK, a bachelor of sorts in this road movie and who seems like a man of principles. He is known among his friends as a philandering womanizer who roams around for business trips and dips his beak in the water while at it. Such a perception - where he does not have any principles - puts one of his friends in dire straits when he learns that KK is now driving on his way from Tamil Nadu to Kerala along with his daughter. The friend's anxiety is synonymous with what the society thinks will happen between KK and this minor-aged college student. The same feeling is what the audience goes through as the film takes them on a long road trip between the two Indian states, giving enough dose to detect something amiss. And that is where director Damodar hits gold. Despite the overlong narrative that starts to bore after the first hour, Uncle manages to make its point. I am ready to ignore the preachy undertone of the climax, but the film does earn some brownie points because of its depiction of the people at large. How hatred, insensitivity, and police apathy come together to create a world that live by stereotypes is what Uncle aims to send out. Except for Karthika Muraleedharan (who has been well cast, BTW), the entire cast do a great job, most notably Mammootty himself and Muthumani. Joy Mathew is also a treat to watch as he portrays the fears of a responsible dad with absolute finesse. There is a strong message in Uncle, and for that alone, I would recommend it. From a cinematic point of view, it still is a long shot from being called the best. Amateur sequences involving cars, slippery dialogues, and a general roughness in the screenplay are to be blamed. TN.
A movie which didn't hit the audience, don't know why this happen again.
Unfortunate !
.
A socially committed movie could've gone so far than what happened.
Development of the plot was mysterious when it comes to the role played by Mammotty.
And the casting done for the daughter played by Karthika is not fitting in the space.
.
A question that writer got to ask has been highlighted in the last 20 mins.
In between he couldn't find the space that makes the audience worth watching.
Because it was too dragging to just tell you what it has to tell in the end.
Otherwise he could've added sub plots to make it more responsible.
.
Again a directorial failure but with a good script in hand.
This is a very boring film. Climax is little better.Film has unwanted mobile calls is very irritating.
