A young deaf girl helps the adults of her town search for their missing children in the nearby rocky wilderness area, and after wandering off alone and discovering a foreboding cavern, she ventures through it and on the other side finds the children who are all in the throes of the eerie melody of what is clearly a very monstrous incarnation of the Pied Piper, who looks just like grim death as an evil looking skeleton playing a flute surrounded by swirling black smoke, doesn't sound like much to describe it but the effect is very impressively done, as is the killer twist as the demonic Piper, enraged that the girl can't succumb to the malevolent magic of his tune like the rest, turns the children against their own parents like a pack of savage little monsters! I found that to be a grim twist worthy of the fascinating fable itself! Good little short, a little thin but hey the special effects are pretty good and I love the idea of the Piper having a macabre spin of any kind, even if it's in a fairly brief short. Give it a look-see, you may have fun if you have a liking for horror short films involving scary monsters, and ones that don't have a happy ending! 💀
