But I have it time, and that zombie show is one of my all time favorites. Superstition - of course won't replace my Winchester boys - but it's actually a pretty entertaining show. Stop trying to compare it to other shows, I mean, if you're saying that it ripped off Supernatural, then Supernatural ripped off Buffy, etc. etc. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Pretty much figuring it won't be renewed for a second season, and that's too bad.
Okay, we all know this is a "Supernatural" ripoff. That said, it really wasn't as bad as some of the reviews claim. Pilots have a tendency to be shaky, as they are introducing characters and backstory - so I intend to give it several more episodes. I like the premise, and having the family running a funeral home is just so *right*! Now they need to spend more time on wasting evil and less time on interpersonal relationships.
I initially saw this and wondered if it was a Supernatural knockoff or if it was something semi-original. Turns out, it was the latter and a poor knockoff at that. In the first episode, they even make a reference to Supernatural "Sam and Dean's" arsenal in their car trunk; so, at least they acknowledge it.
As for the show itself, I gave it 3 stars, not because it's a poor knockoff of Supernatural, because it's not that good. I understand as much as the next person that most of these shows are "B" type flicks. However, the acting is really kind of bad and the nobody seems like they want to really be doing the show. On top of that, it seems like they rushed to unfold/evolve everything in the pilot, which made it less interesting, like they didn't have a good product and were just spit- balling for something to grab you attention.
Because I'm a fan of shows like this, I will stick it out for at least the first season to see if they can settle things out; hopefully they can.

This whole situation reminds me of Ghost Wars. Both shows have characters handling situations differently from the same overdone route and in both cases people decided the show apparently sucks because of it.
There is no question that the pilot especially doesn't dwell on drama or the 'oohh spooky' vibes as much as is normal in these supernatural shows. Instead it tries to make their job the norm as it really is, you have the calm of action that usually comes when you do this sort of stuff as a job, the stuff a usual supernatural flick would usually leave for 2nd or 3rd season to accommodate the watchers even though the characters have been living the life.
As for the pacing in some areas its not as smooth as it should be, it kind of reminds me of a novel in the way it jumps but for visual media they should have smoothed it over more. Basically the scene pacing tries too much to keep up with how the characters are portrayed to be hitting the ground running in the situation and it falls flat sometimes. This, seems to be the shows biggest problem and its not even that major. All it needs is that sprinkle of the right atmosphere and a touch up on its pacing to go from good to truly great.
Outside of that the pilot seems to be a nice change of pace and while it isn't top charts its a very serviceable show and I'm looking forward to more.
Update for EP2: I don't think it was this bad for ep1 because I never jumped out at me like it does for this episode in that... THE CAMERA GUY NEEDS TO BACK UP SOMETIMES. They're really overusing the close up thing and its annoying.

From the opening episode Superstition tries to place itself on the same footing as Supernatural, even making a direct reference to "Sam and Dean".
That is, however where any purported similarities between the two shows end. Superstition is an inept knock off, that has about as much appeal as a Chinese Rolex. The scripting is dismal, narrative corny and in more than a few instances the acting is downright bad.
Indeed, if there is anything positive to come from watching this nonsense its simply to remind fans of Supernatural just how fresh and enjoyable this show is several seasons in.
In short an other worldly comedy of errors. Two out of ten from me.
