Siccin 4: A Visual Feast with Outstanding Cinematography

In my opinion, Siccin 4 is the best film in the series in terms of cinematography. The shots are very successful, the colors are perfect, and the editing is excellent. The atmosphere of the house used in the film is so well done that it immediately sets the mood. Even the terrifying creatures appearing in the intense scenes are extremely well executed. There is a scene we also saw in the trailer where a scary figure suddenly appears behind Merve Ates as she screams with her back turned. Honestly, this scene alone makes the film worth watching. The shot is so well planned - these are exactly the kinds of shots we want to see. It looks professional and high quality. It has been promoted as the scariest film in the series.

This is no lie. The film truly has the potential to be the scariest in the series. The timing of the jump scares was very well done, placed in spots that make the audience jump out of their seats. The choice of locations was spot-on, creating a strong sense of suspense. The props, jinn visuals, and the overall atmosphere show that the art department did an excellent job. The cinematographer fully deserves credit.

With this film, the Siccin series also takes a turn. The character Orhan brings a completely new style to the series. I think it was the right choice. The strong religious themes pull the audience deeper into the film. The messages given were meaningful. The biggest factor that sets this series apart from other horror films is its correct use of religious elements. The film ends with a powerful message. While this happens, the end credits roll, and here we see another level of craftsmanship. The music by Resit Gozdamla is once again a pleasure to listen to. Starting from a divine melody, a film score was created. Perhaps the best decision for this film was to have this man compose the music. Keeping the audience watching the end credits until the very last second is also, in my opinion, a separate success.

The only thing I haven't mentioned yet is the script. In my opinion, it was not particularly strong. Maybe I overlooked it because I focused on other aspects. However, I must clearly state that Siccin 4 offers a true visual feast. It is a must-watch in the Turkish horror genre.

The worst movie I've ever seen!

It's very, very bad, I've never seen such a bad movie before. Everything in the movie is designed to be "scared." There's nothing but him! Script zero! Don't, don't watch!

Siccin 4 (2017) : Experience Islamic Horror of an Unwanted Inhabitant

Siccin is a Turkish horror movie which is a bit unusual for me to watch. Well, I guess not many people watch non english horror movie and this is the same feeling I had when I watched it. The setting is unusual as it is Turkish movie, the family involved is actually implied to be moslem. That alone is pretty unusual as many horror flick usually involved curch or priest, not moslem. By the first five minute into the movie, I can already tell that this is pretty scary and not for everyone. It can be pretty frightening and may cause you to startle a lot during screening. They open with a scary montage that give you a depiction of scary ghost encountered in the story. The story revolves around a family in turkey that due to financial problems, have to move in their grandmother Saadet's house. But Saadet is not living alone as known. Saadet's old house, which is also a tomb of her deceased husband, is inhabited by beings from another dimension. I have to say that the family is consisted of a stressed father who keeps looking for a way to make money even want to sell the grandmother's house, her wife the mother who is worried about her husband and the children. The main important characters is actually the children, the big sister who have to console the weird younger brother named Omar because he is often being haunted in his dreams. They lived alongside their grandmother and her personal caretaker, who is called aunt Rehime. Most of the character have their own creepy quirk such as the two-faced aunt Rehime who can act meek and mean depending on the people she interact with. The younger brother, sister, and the father who always get haunted in the dreams by a ghost depicted as a violent black or burned lady with a big long hair. Omar the younger brother, aunt rehime and the grandmother are especially creepy, as omar will always cover his head in pillow cover when he is scared and the interaction between grandmother and the caretaker can send shiver down to your spine because it is uncomfortable and creepy. It was pretty mysterious to see how things unfold and kinda interesting to uncover the cause of hauntings in the first place. I was just felt kind of disappointed about how the story get the solution out of nowhere. Nevertheless, I think it is a pretty scary horror movie which you can enjoy safely with your family as there are no explicit scene. Furthermore, you can experience something unusual watching horror movie set in turkey rather than in America. I really recommended this film for those that love horror film. If I have to give a score for this film as a horror I would rate it 7 or 8 out of 10. Give this trailer a try first.

A highly enjoyable entry to the franchise

After a series of financial hardships, a man moves his family into his ailing mother's home until they're on their feet again, but when they start to realize that a series of ghastly hallucinations are due to meddling in occult rituals must uncover the truth behind everything to stop it.

This was an immensely solid and enjoyable sequel. Among its better elements here comes from the strong storyline that sets everything in motion at a generally fine clip. The main setup of the family being forced to move into the house due to financial restraints and trying to get back on their feet but continually becoming contacted by supernatural entities and hallucinations gives this a strong start with the whole idea of keeping them there by force and being unable to figure out how to stop the series of encounters from happening. That becomes even more chilling here with the whole thing leading into the series of revelations to look into what's going on which not only uncovers the reasoning for everything taking place with the connection to the black magic ritual but also the interdimensional gateway of the house sits on because of that which causes the hauntings and sets the film up incredibly well. That allows for the film to work through an immensely intriguing series of haunting scenes for quite a thrilling atmosphere. That these are brought about in rapid succession from the very start moves this along feverishly where the house being subjected to a series of supernatural beings due to the grandmother's actions before the family arrived turns everything into a great touch. With scenes featuring the son observing the grandmother and her assistant carrying out black magic practices while in the presence of the demonic beings, the strange practices that they undertake to placate them while under the guise of performing simplistic everyday tasks, or the rest of the family getting with a series of face-to-face encounters with the spirits, the ferocity and frequency of these brief hauntings gives this a great pace with the chilling atmosphere. These are more than enough to work the final half into a spectacularly intriguing series of hauntings and supernatural confrontations as the beings get far more willing to undergo more impactful encounters where the creatures emerge from the grounds of the house or a secret room closed off to the family throughout the film. With the scenes showing how everything comes together and the attempted rituals with the purpose behind them all work nicely, but it's all so rushed that it feels like skipping over crucial details throughout this section. There's very little here about the reasoning for dabbling in the dark arts in the first place or how the family got involved with their antics as the son is established as being able to tap into everything going on yet it has very little exploring the idea further. Combined with the exorcism attempt that seems to come out of nowhere with no build-up, these few factors are what brings this one down.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language and Violence.

    Nice one

"Siccin 4" continues to delve into the eerie and supernatural with a 6/10 rating from me, and I must admit, I found it intriguing. The acting, though at times uneven, manages to maintain a sense of unease that complements the film's spooky atmosphere. The film editing sustains a feeling of impending dread, though it occasionally struggles with pacing. The film's strength lies in its unwavering commitment to exploring Turkish supernatural folklore and the persistence of malevolent forces. The music adds to the overall eerie ambiance, while the cinematography captures the darkness that seeps into everyday life. "Siccin 4" builds on the series' established themes, underscoring the idea that meddling with the paranormal carries dire consequences. While it may not be flawless, it offers a compelling addition to the unsettling world of "Siccin" for those who appreciate a good supernatural chill.
