Coming-of-age movie that deals with topics such as death, friendship, grief, courage, independence and the importence of standing up for yourself and the people you love. Funny with rebellious smart female lead characters. I had no expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the good acting all over. Hopefull film despite dark streaks. The best thing about this movie is that it avoids the trap of being overly educational or moralistic, which makes it authentic in my opinion. Not a masterpiece but perfectly good and I would probably would have loved it if I saw it as a teenager. I guess it's mostly for young people but I'm 46 and really enjoyed it.
