Avis à la une
I grew up in the late 90s/ early 00s when I used to love these chic flics but we now live in a time of films with gritty realism. I realise that escapist romance still has it's place but it would be good if in 2020 it was a bit more grounded in the reality. It was just a chick flic trope every few minutes that just made it hard to relate to any of the characters.
I've given it a 5 because I think people that binge watch Hallmark romances might like it. For me I'll look for more modern romances because I found the way the lead was just another flighty female lead cringey/ borderline offensive. Also the man looked like he was just there to flirt with her, didn't have other things to deal with, another bad trope in romances.

I understand that some associate Hollywood (or even more generally speaking America) with movies and scripts that are easy to digest to put it mildly. That being said, other countries have adapted that and are not always behind when it comes to that formula. This spanish language movie is a perfect example (don't be irritated by it being on Netflix as another reviewer obviously was and put it as American made).
Again since there are cliches being served and the movie moves along as expected, one can be forgiven comparing it to Hollywood made movies. So if that is the vibe you are looking for ... on the other hand, if it is something you are trying to avoid, maybe leave this alone. Still the acting is better than your standard romantic movie from America and miles if not worlds apart from those Hallmark movies (or TV movies of the week or whatever they are called). Not special but not really completely bad either

Bea (Clara Lago) is relatively secure in her professional life as a young Barcelona architect and in her relationship with Victor (Fernando Guallar) who is also her boss. At a works celebration they encounter Victor's "second most fancied celebrity" - a news anchor called Rebecca Ramos. Bea rashly introduces Victor to the unexpectedly predatory TV celeb and the inevitable happens - overnight.
Devastated, Bea retreats homeward into the arms of her welcoming, and unconventional family - and several other colourful inhabitants of her tiny home town who she doesn't remember. In particular, she's forever bumping into the rich widower Diego (played by Álex García) in his classic pink Mercedes.
This is a conventional Romantic Comedy, but neatly crafted and well acted. The plot is fairly predictable but everybody has some fun along the way, perhaps most especially Bea's "gifted" mother (Carmen Maura). This is a good movie for the family to watch, especially if they speak Spanish, and there are some genuinely funny lines - even for someone depending mostly on the subtitles. (English audio doesn't seem to be available on Netflix.)
Generally an enjoyable movie to while away a quiet hour and a half. 8/10

I am usually suprised by the reviews on imdb, because it seems that a person that wanted to watch something else watched the movie and now wants to complain how bad it is... Like if you are watching romantic comedy why would you expect something else? If you want reality watch a documentary, if you want something serious, then a drama... There are so many movies to choose from.
I really enjoyed this movie. I like how simple it seems but then it is really deep movie. Makes me want to call my grandma and my mum, go and hug my brother and just makes me want to be happy. It is a lot about family, love and family relationships, love in tne family, accepting each other the way we are and dealing with life problems and crisis in a latin way, with a full spoon of humour and some wine. Love story is just a part of the movie and it is simple not cheesy or super unrealisticly romantic. I really enjoyed it's light atmosphere, it reminds me to dance and laugh more and take things less seriously.
I really enjoyed the soundtrack of the movie. Acting is good, actors look like normal people, not like some super polished Hollywood stars. It reminded me of my trips to Spain, those small towns look exactly like in the movie.
I really recommend it. Light romantic movie with the family story and a reminder that life is short, love your family, yourself, seek happiness. Simple life things but so important.
