After Watching Belasheshe and Prakton, I being a great fan of Nandita Roy & Shibprashad Mukherjee. I really expected from Posto and my expectations are fulfilled. This film is about a family where Father, Son and his Grandson is in main attraction. You can learn many solution of family problems by seeing this movie. It has to mention that Film Makers have to some extra-ordinary vision like Nandita Roy & Shibprashad Mukherjee. Thanks a lot.
Very nice movie to watch out. This is another good movie from Shiva-Nandita duo. Soumitra, Jishu, Lili, Paran, Sohini did excellent job. Child artist is also very good. Songs by Aninda-Anupam are also very entertaining and matured than previous one. Love you Soumitra. Mimi need a bit more work to play in this kind of movie. Overall movie worth watching in lieu of money.
Unfortunately this is the worst work by the director duo who'd been rechristened Shibu-Nandita by the vernacular media . I somehow find this movie extremely anti women, archaic and feudal . This movie jabs against working women and demeans men as spineless who take money from their wives or "dances to their wife's tune" . Here are few things that I learnt from the movie
1> If I drink occasionally or socially I can be tagged as an alcoholic or drunkard
2> If a kid loses a friendly scuffle with other boys of his age, then it is the fault of the father for not keeping the kid away from the group of kids of the same age group
3>Drinking alcohol in parties makes a man illegible or not qualified enough to bring up his own child
4>A kid mouthing trash dialog from of some tacky soap opera , is considered cute ,whereas uttering the word "Sh**" is blasphemous
5>The only female character that spoke up against the archaic ,feudal mentality of Dinu Lahiri has been shown in a negative shade . The lawyer spoke the truth & that is Dinu Lahiri's actions and intentions are regressive .
6> Also a child growing up by playing cricket with men who are 10 times his age , develops zero social skills and comes whining to his grandmother when he loses a friendly scuffle to a boy of his age
I feel this movie clearly pits out the hatred against the liberal upbringing and it clearly humiliates working mothers . Though the acting was good but somehow it lacks a good story-line and comes with a horrendous script as well .

"Posto" is a directorial treat which addresses the most relevant issue plaguing almost every urban bengali household today in the most poignant yet assertive tone. The movie starts off with cute little Posto growing up in Shantiniketan with his caring Grandparents more than filling up the void created by the absence of his millennial parents toiling away in Kolkata to make a life. Nandita-Shib duo perfectly captures the nuances of a hurting mother who is caught in the crossfire of career and spending time with her own son. All goes well till the biological parents want their child back which escalates into a court case between parents and grandparents.Though the idea of court battle seems a little far-fetched but the implementation is impeccable. The director duo is lucky yet again to have Soumitra Chatterjee by their side as the patriarch Dinen Lahiri chastising his son and showering Posto with all his love. Lily Chakraborty as grandma perfectly complements Soumitra. Mimi is fresh and cute and does justify her paradigm shift from commercial garbage to more meaningful stuff. Paran Bandopadhya is his usual self and is brilliant as Soumitra's lawyer. But child actor Argha as Posto is the heart and soul of this wittily crafted family drama with his naughty but cheerful portrayal. Overall Posto is a nice dramatisation of the burning issue of any modern day urban Bengali household and in the end we get a compromise solution which makes sense. The final court scene will make the eyes moist of even the most pragmatic person. Nandita-shib does it again the fourth time by striking a chord with the middle-class bengali household and trust me the movie has something for everyone in the family. Mind you, getting the pulse of the target audience in successive films is no mean feat and that makes this go-getter director duo the 'Bahubaali' of our very own Tollywood. I am going with a generous 4/5.
