Important to remember that in 1990 Aids was spreading fear through the world and the stigma for being gay was at an all time high. Madonna proved to be a major ally, pushing gay culture front and centre stage and also using main protagonists who developed vogueing on the New York gay underground scene. After decades , the feeling than Madonna represents a fascinating form of liberty ( normal for a kid under ceausescu regime ) , continues to work for the adult who I am.
