mixed impressions

Mixed impressions about a not so comfortable subject but fair explored in good measure.

I like gay stories but in this case, the involvement of children seems to me little forced. Forced, in same measure, seems the desire of Tom, so easy encouraged by mother, for Mrs McCutcheon identity or the easy acceptance of teacher.

But , off course, a bit of realism works - especially for bulying scene or for reaction of principal , some scenes and dialogues are just nice and young Wesley Patten is pure adorable as Trevor.

The message is significant - to be yourself is the most important thing. Indeed, in some forced manner in this case because childhood is defined by many preferances and options for a time.

Truly keep an open mind while watching this.

Though some of the acting in this cute, short film has a lot to be desired, it sends a powerful, poignant message. The message is, to be who you are in this sometimes cruel and judgemental world no matter the cost. I'm as much a man's man as the next guy but i believe in live and let live just as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. The ending of this film touched my heart and if anyone truly has one, it will touch theirs too.

Truly Beautuful Film

This short film is a joy to watch, the young leads are wonderful and the story is uplifting and much needed right now. It's about acceptance and being who you are no matter what. It's also about seeing the beauty in someone and finding joy in a life that is meant to be lived. It is also about confronting bigotry. I am not going to spoil it. Just watch with an open mind. Aussie film making at it's very best.
