Clown Motel: Spirits Arise

The worse movie experience of my life. absolutely nothing positive to say about it. feels like it was made on one of those old super 8 movie projectors.

I'll keep this one short and sweet. It's bad. Really bad. Some the worst acting I've ever seen. A nonsensical story. Horrible dialogue. Piss poor effects. Seriously cringeworthy jokes. Just a complete mess. I only rate movies a 1 star if they're essentially broken so I'm giving this one a generous 2/10

I recently watched Clown Motel: Spirits Arise (2019) on Tubi. The storyline follows a ghost hunting group and a bachelorette party that find themselves at a haunted motel in the middle of nowhere, about to be hunted by a group of clowns who reject traditional society and want to take it out on their guests.

This movie is written, directed, and stars Joseph Kelly (Bloody Island) and features Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th), Martin Klebba (Cradle 2 the Grave), Elinor Price (The Handmaid's Tale), Alyssa Leonard (Anti-Heroes) and Steven Vogel (Monster).

While Ari appears at the beginning and end of the movie, I couldn't help but wonder where he went during the rest of it. The acting, writing, dialogue, and special effects in this film range from average to subpar. The kill scenes vary in quality, with some being mediocre and disappointing, while a few deliver worthwhile gore and blood splatter. The clowns' face paint is well done, and the concept had potential. The storyline also had promise, but the conclusion was merely passable. The movie's standout moment is the line, "Respect the testicles."

In conclusion, Clown Motel: Spirits Arise falls short, but as a horror enthusiast, I've seen worse and didn't mind watching it through. I would give this a 3/10 and recommend seeing it once if you have the right expectations.

About 20 minutes into it I started punching myself in the nuts. I could crap a better clown movie. Seriously how did Ari Lehman manage to not say "I was the first Jason" every 5 minutes.

I was tricked into watching this because the good reviews on imdb. I'm not even sure why I didn't just turn it off..I guess I figured nothing could be this bad. I doubt there was a budget at all, just some people thrown together and filmed with a phone. My question is how did this get a 7.5 rating. There are very good movies that have good actors that only get a 5-6 rating.
