THE 3.9/10 RATING BOO! 2 GOT IS WRONG!!! IT SHOULD BE IMDB RATING 5/10!!! BIG MADEA FAN FOR LIFE!!!!
I love Madea! Before I go into detail of my opinion about Tyler Perry's movies, I'd like to say I enjoyed this Madea film alot. It's not my favorite Madea movie, but Madea ALWAYS MAKES ME LAUGH HARD!!!
I thought I saw all the Madea films & then I came across Tyler Perry's, "Meet the Browns." I wanted to see just how much in that movie Tyler plays Madea & Joe, cuz even though the movie, "I can do bad all by myself" was enjoyable, I didn't care for it that much since Madea & Joe's roles weren't constant like in Boo! Or Madea's Witness Protection. Boo! Was my very 1st Tyler Perry movie I watched. & my husband & I loved it ALOT! Extremely HILARIOUS from start to finish! So when I came across "Meet the Brown's" I went over other IMDB reviewers ratings for it to see if Madea's in the movie quite a bit & when I read others opinions about Tyler Perry's Madea movies or just Tyler Perry movies, I was surprised.. Other people's ratings for his films (mainly Madea) were 1-3/10.... (P. S. if any gets confused thinking my rating of 4/10 is also a low rating, understand that 4/10 rating from me means I enjoyed it very much & will continue watch it over & over. I've never rated anything 9/10 or 10/10 cuz no movie is 100% perfect. So 4/10 is a good rating coming from me.) Anyways, Tyler Perry playing Madea, & Joe is ALWAYS fun to watch! I love Madea & Joe & wish they were real people! I honestly prefer Tyler's movies with Madea, than his other films. Like I said above, "I can do bad all by myself" to me is last on my list of favorite Madea films cuz Madea's not in it so often.
11. I can do bad all by myself 10. A Madea Family Funeral 9. A Madea Christmas 8. Madea Goes to Jail 7. Diary of a Mad Black Woman 6. Boo! 2 5. Madea's Family Reunion 4. Madea's Big Happy Family 3. Witness Protection 2. A Madea Homecoming 1. Boo!
If u don't like Madea movies then there's something wrong with u. I hope Tyler continues to play Madea for many, many more yrs in the near future!

Was the worst Tyler Perry movie ever.
I really don't recomend using money to view this film. Tyler Perry is a great actor, and producer. But Boo 2 is not his greatest work.
So as far as sequels go, this is a very typical one. I went to see Boo 2 because though Tyler Perry movies are not really my thing, I actually enjoined the first Boo, so I took the chance that I would enjoy the second one.
I totally did, too. It's not as good as the original. As much as I found the original funny, it also had an attempt to show family values in it that was not lost on me. This time around their attempt (If there was one cause I did not see it) was literally taken out to make more room for laughs. In a lot of ways it made the film like the second episode of one of Perry's shows (Which I like more than his movies), as it seems nobody learned the lesson from the first Madea Halloween.
Case in point, like the original, Boo 2 is about Joe trying to discipline his entitled daughter, Tiffany. Once again she defies her overbearing father's wishes in order to go to a party at midnight in the woods at a camp where a bunch of people got murdered. Now I understand the natural urge for a teenager not to want to listen to her dad, but when your aunt is someone like Madea, you would think you would think twice about this woman coming to track you down, especially after what happen in the last movie.
Like the last film, Boo 2 focuses on Madea and her friends running into terror and danger while trying to get to Tiffany. The film likes to Parody current themes in horror like with influences of Korean horror and it also pokes a nod to old school Horror with the film taking place at a camp and the underage teens being hunted by a man with a mask and a chainsaw.
Overall, I much prefer the more light hearted Tyler Perry movies. Sometimes his stuff can be too over dramatic for me, but I seem to like it when he goes for straight up Sitcom style on us and that's Boo 2!
It's crazy and filled with laughs and no matter where it fails compare to the first one, we are there to laugh and that's what makes this sequel enjoyable.

2/2/18. I usually like Madea movies, but this one was just awful. Halloween was only a side story for the 17 year old spoiled brat. It was more of a senior complain-fest about how to better parent a girl of divorced parents. Skip it.
Having just watched six preceding "Madea" movies prior to watching the 2017 movie "Boo 2! A Madea Halloween", I must admit that it was only with the previous 2016 "Boo! A Madea Halloween" movie that things were starting to brighten up, and the movie was heading down a proper comedy path, instead of that pseudo social commentary seriousness that the movies before that had adapted.
And I enjoyed the 2016 "Boo! A Madea Halloween" movie, so I have to admit that I was certainly harboring a certain expectation to the 2017 sequel "Boo 2! A Madea Halloween".
The storyline in the movie was okay, but not quite as entertaining as the one in the 2016 movie. Don't get me wrong here, because I am not saying that the sequel was bad, not at all, but it just lacked something that the previous movie had.
Tyler Perry and Cassi Davis were the only performers I was familiar with. It should be noted, though, that some of the frat students from the 2016 movie also returned to reprise their characters in this sequel, which was a nice touch for continuity. The acting performances in the movie were good.
My rating of writer and director Tyler Perry's 2017 movie "Boo 2! A Madea Halloween" lands on a five out of ten stars.
