The movie is a complete disaster... The plot is moving extremely slow. In the end we don't understand is Alex a splitted personality, or she really has gone throu hell because of an other woman being obsessed with a role to steal... Too bad... Movie is a waste of time
Don't let my review history on here fool you: I do love subtle, well-crafted, thought-provoking films too (I just don't tend to talk about them on IMDB because it's mostly a place I vent about movies that I think are bad or bland). But, also, don't think I'm saying this is such a film. Subtlety can be great, but there's subtlety and then there's vagueness. This film has the latter. I can suspect the intent, but it's not really clear what they're attempting because the execution is so boring and confusing.
And this is another one of those British films in which everyone seems to dislike each other even when they supposedly like each other. I've been heavy into British media since childhood, but sometimes those kinds of attitudes (and even the drawn-out posh accents) do my head in, to borrow a phrase. Are British people really just fake and pretentious and up their own butts? Maybe. But it's not fun to watch in a movie. I root for no one in such a case.
I love the set (house), and I love the red dress (the red lipstick too). Some of the music is catchy. There are some good shots, and it doesn't look like it was filmed on a first-generation smartphone like some indie films even to this day. The makeup/FX was fine too. Otherwise, it's nothing. The pacing and lack of suspense kill this film. Also, the "main" blonde woman is so thin it's difficult to look at sometimes.

I already have a movie I can suggest to you, if you either like or think about watching this. And it is Starry Eyes - I am not saying that both those movies are the same. Actually I am even saying the other one is way better. But I mean story wise. There are differences and all that. But it is the mood this tries to catch. While not a bad idea and for a low budget movie not badly done: if you only watch one movie, watch the other one.
A struggling actress, unable to get a role. Frustrated - even though she doesn't seem to have a bad life. But there is more. We kind of knew there will be more. And there are twists - quite nice ones. Especially the way they visually come to life right in front of your eyes. Also there is going to be some violence and madness ... which is quite nicely done as well. Seen worse but that is because I watch a lot. And I may be a bit too nice when it comes to the rating thing, but I think there is something here ... even if it is not that much for most.

Tricky one this....
Overall, not bad. Some misdirected/poorly acted scenes between Alex and Liam but the two lead actresses did a pretty good job throughout. Too much of a lean on wide angle lens shots - and the fact that I picked up on it should show how much it was misused.
Pretty sure I understood the end, but it's slightly ambiguous which is not a bad thing.
It's not a GREAT film but it's not awful either. If you have an interest in films (as opposed to purely being a consumer of them) I'd say it's worth a watch. I didn't regret seeing it, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know either.
Looks like a first feature for a lot of the creatives, and I think it was a strong showing with a lot of really nice choices. Without being derivative it reminded me a little of the Hammer House Of Horror series from the 80s and also (weirdly) the 60s Avengers TV show (Emma Peel and Steed) - in a good way.
Don't be mislead by the super high scores, but don't be put off by the super low ones either.
I'Ii keep watching these 10/10 movies to weed out. This movie wasn't the worse I've seen but it's certainly was bizarre and definitely not anything over a 4/10. Its very slow with not much action. Much too cerebral for my taste.
