Siskel & Ebert (1995)
Season 10, Episode 5
The Stallone action film ASSASSINS, DEAD PRESIDENTS, the all-star cast HOW TO MAKE AN AMERICAN QUILT, the sci-fi epic STRANGE DAYS and PERSUASION are the five films reviwed on this week's episode of Siskel and Ebert. For the most part there's no major arguments, although the two were certainly split on STRANGE DAYS as Ebert would eventually put it on his year's ten best list. There's also some good discussions on the boring formula of the Stallone picture and the Video Pick of the Week is a much better movie dealing with an assassination. If you're a fan of this show then obviously you're going to be entertained by this. The classic arguments aren't here but the reviews were good and there's no question that there's still some entertainment value to be had.

Roger Ebert: [reviewing "Assassins"] Is it possible to smash a cab against a bus with a guy hanging out the window and not kill him or even hurt him? I don't THINK so, but they do it in this movie.
[moments later...]
Roger Ebert: Okay, now here's another question: Is it possible to survive a third floor gas explosion by holding up a table as a shield? I don't THINK so, but they do it in this movie.
