Tyler, the Creator Gives the People What They Want But Can’t Figure Out What He Needs
Image
Don’t Tap the Glass is Tyler, the Creator’s second album in less than a year and, at only 28 minutes, notably less robust than its predecessor, Chromakopia. But all the elements of his work are here: the swaggy boasts, the effortless shifts from deep-voiced rapping to winsome, slightly off-key singing that makes a listener wonder if a second person has entered the booth; and beats that shape-shift like a kid rifling through a toy box. It’s the latest manifestation of a boundless creative impulse that has helped him...

Ozzy Osbourne Was in a Wild South Park Episode, and No One Remembers
Image
Ozzy Osbourne, the “Prince of Darkness” and iconic Black Sabbath frontman, tragically passed away on July 22, 2025, at age 76. Having had a string of health issues, including his 2020 Parkinson’s diagnosis, the metal legend continued performing until just weeks before his death.

Famous for his wild antics on the stage, no cause of death has been revealed by his family yet, as CNN reports. While tributes from across the world pour in, his legacy extends well beyond the confines of heavy metal and Black Sabbath. In a cameo that not everyone remembers, Osbourne once appeared in an episode of South Park.

In South Park’s Season 2 Episode 14, titled Chef Aid, Ozzy Osbourne made an iconic cameo. Playing himself in a riotously over-the-top benefit concert scene.

Chris Robinson, ‘12 O’Clock High,’ ‘General Hospital’ and ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Actor, Dies at 86
Image
Chris Robinson, who starred as a World War II bomber pilot on the 1960s ABC drama 12 O’Clock High and had lengthy stints on the daytime soap operas General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful, has died. He was 86.

Robinson died Monday on his ranch near Sedona, Arizona, actor and musician Mj Allen announced on Facebook. They worked together on the 2022 film Just for a Week.

During an acting career that spanned eight decades, Robinson worked alongside Burt Lancaster in The Young Savages (1961) and Birdman of Alcatraz (1962), both directed by John Frankenheimer, and with Addams Family icon Ted Cassidy in four films, all of which he directed.

The Florida native also starred as Vietnam vet Tim Ochopee, a Seminole with a pet rattlesnake who obeys his commands (for most of the movie, anyway), in the Everglades-set horror film Stanley (1972), from Crown International Pictures.

Robinson joined the cast of the...

Briarcliff Acquires U.S. On Benedict Cumberbatch Sundance Premiere ‘The Thing With Feathers’
Image
Exclusive: Briarcliff Entertainment has acquired U.S. distribution rights to The Thing With Feathers. A wide theatrical release is planned for October 31 for the debut narrative film by Dylan Southern. Pic was one of the high-profile world premieres at the Sundance Film Festival in January, with Benedict Cumberbatch starring alongside Richard Boxall and Henry Boxall. The film subsequently had its international premiere at Berlin.

While the acquisition marketplace was sluggish during the week or so that Sundance unfolded in Park City, deals for the most promising films with stars have been trickling in steadily. That might well be the new normal for Toronto, Sundance and Cannes. The Thing With Feathers becomes the latest example that validates Sundance as still a good launchpad for indie fare, though sellers and buyers have to be patient, and the numbers fall as time goes on.

An adaptation of the Max Porter novella Grief Is the Thing With Feathers,...

Every Tyler The Creator Album Ranked, Including Chromakopia
Image
From his 2009 self-produced debut LP Bastard to his 2024 genre-blending neo-industrial concept album Chromakopia, LA-based rapper Tyler, the Creator has become one of the most unique voices in modern hip-hop. Tyler's sound has certainly evolved from the provocative shock value of "Yonkers" off 2010's Goblin – which skyrocketed the rapper to internet fame – to the heartfelt pleading of "Earfquake" featuring a baby-voiced Playboi Carti on the most unexpected pop breakup album of 2019, Igor. Tyler's come a long way from the early days of his rap collective Odd Future, which also introduced the talents of Earl Sweatshirt and Frank Ocean.

Tyler, the Creator is one of hip-hop's great and few auteurs who bring cinematic elements into his track lists and production themes. His latest, Chromakopia, has a distinct artistic vision that adds another compelling chapter to his already versatile discography yet is still quintessentially Tyler at its core. While his lyrical focus has...

Forget Hunter x Hunter, Yu Yu Hakusho Will Never Escape 1 Controversy Because Yoshihiro Togashi Wanted Work-Life Balance
Image
Fans of Hunter x Hunter are in perpetual pain because of the unending hiatus and the fear that the series might never see its end. But if there’s one series that has suffered a worse fate at the hands of Yoshihiro Togashi, it’s Yu Yu Hakusho.

The ending of Yu Yu Hakusho was highly controversial and could not satisfy a majority of fans. But it wasn’t a lack of creativity that led to the unsatisfying ending. Togashi himself admitted that the manga ended the way it did because of his own ‘selfishness.’

Yoshihiro Togashi Felt Relief When Yu Yu Hakusho Ended Yu Yu Hakusho by Yoshihiro Togashi | Credits: Studio Pierrot

In an interview from 2014, Yoshihiro Togashi, the author of Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho, explained why he had to end Yu Yu Hakusho despite the criticism he knew he would face. The very first thought...

On ‘Chromakopia,’ Tyler, the Creator Has to Deal With the Truth
Image
Tyler, the Creator’s life is a movie. Or, at least, that’s the impression he’s given us over the course of nearly 15 years. His debut mixtape, 2009’s Bastard, introduced us to its cast of characters — from Tyler’s pitched-down voice, serving as his therapist, Dr. Tc, to Wolf Haley, or Ace. From the start, his origin story has followed the hallmarks of the so-called trauma plot, where a central emotional fissure is essential to our main character’s struggles. Bastard’s focus, Tyler’s turbulent home life (most...

Hell’s Paradise Mangaka Yuji Kaku’s Parents Pushed Him Into the Opposite Direction of What Made Tite Kubo’s Bleach so Unique
Image
From its stunning visuals to fight scenes, Hell’s Paradise is a complete treat. Written by Yuji Kaku, the series is a unique take on the supernatural. The dark fantasy series blends the elements of history and folklore perfectly. While it’s a fairly new series, it has managed to garner positive reception. However, we’ve barely scratched the surface with this one.

The mangaka revealed the interesting process behind the conception of his series. The intricate details and elements stand in contrast to Tite Kubo’s series. While both series delve into the supernatural, they are poles apart in terms of their art style.

10 Harsh Realities Of Rewatching The Austin Powers Movies
Image
Austin Powers sequels heavily rely on time travel, but the storylines don't make sense. The movie tells the audience not to think about it too much. Scenes involving Mini-Me have aged poorly, as they treat people with dwarfism inappropriately. Dr. Evil treats Mini-Me like an unruly child due to his size. The third Austin Powers movie, Goldmember, heavily relies on recycled gags from previous films. The humor becomes repetitive and lacks originality.

For the most part, the Austin Powers movies are shagadelic, baby, but there are a few things that stand out when rewatching them today. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery was a culture-clash comedy about a cryogenically frozen ‘60s secret agent being thawed out in the ‘90s and having to adapt to modern society as he tracks down his arch nemesis, Dr. Evil. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me sent Austin back to the ‘60s in a...
