Hirugao

Sawa leads an ordinary life with a disinterested husband who prefers his hamsters to her. She meets a woman in the store who persuades her to take on a lover. When she does the stage is set for pain and destruction on a major scale. The odd thing is that the only person who loses everything is the most innocent one. The major players just return to their lives with little punishment. I find the Japanese laws very strange - a civilian can demand an awful lot and be backed by law to do so in a divorce court including compensation and demands to control the guilty persons life to an unacceptable degree. There were more non-scenes than relevant scenes - an awful lot of bike riding and sky gazing. The story could have been told in four eps. I wish it had been.

You will regret watching it to the end. It is horrible in a weird way.

The story is horribly written. The directing sucked. Over two hours long with ridiculous, plodding character development

I loved the original series "Love Affairs in the Afternoon" it was tightly written and had an interesting story. A bit of a trashy indulgence, but it was fun and somewhat deep. The series was interesting in that it allowed each character to display their reaction to the situation. The movie was just a money grab. Mechanical, unoriginal, SLOW, stupid plot, and badly directed. I was waiting for it to end. .

My wife's explanation was enough to make me physically ill. Do not watch this movie if you value your emotional integrity. There is no fulfilling conclusion, it is simply a horrible ending...

The director/writer or whoever was responsible for this clearly has very big issues to sort out.
