The Third Party

So it's not exactly a groundbreaking movie in any way, but the characters are enjoyable to watch. The two male leads are adorable (especially Max), and as a gay man I found myself surprisingly even more interested in the female lead, Andi.

I'll probably think of the plot holes more upon further reflection, but having just watched it this movie left a pleasant impression. Is it an Oscar winner? No....but there are a lot worse ways to spend an evening. (If nothing else, just stare at Max) 😈

The gem in the movie is Angel Locsin as Andi - you really feel for her. Great performance - she leaps out of the screen. Good performances from the rest of the cast too, but the character of Max was a bit annoying.

While the movie is a rom com, it doesn't run away from resolving issues of everyone in it, and also depicts various interpersonal relationships well. Might have been a bit better edited at 2 hours length, though.

Nothing extraordinary about this movie. If you're looking for any sexual scene between those 2 hot guys, this movie is not for you. I don't know if a peck kiss considered a kiss. I kiss my cat with a peck. That's the only intimate scene you can find between the gay guys in this film. I doubt they are even gay. Watchable enough, it's not that bad. The bisexual guy is hot. Watch this if you're bored and have nothing other to watch. I mean there is so many other good bisexual movies themed out there for you to watch.

4 star for me only for the good acting. Their acting skill is good. I bet they are very famous in Philippines. Only that.

Good movie. However, if you've seen Pusong Mamon (1998) first, The Third Party might feel less bold. Although it has modern touches and high-quality production, it doesn't have the same pioneering spirit and emotional punch. Still, The Third Party is a good movie that talks about love and acceptance, making it a nice addition to Filipino LGBTQ+ films.

It's hardly an award winning movie, but it was fun to watch, had several sweet moments and all the typical moments of a PG-13 gay romcom. Probably a little longer than it needed to be - but that just gave more camera time to the handsome male leads. Subtitles made it much harder to finish the dishes!
