Winter Ridge

Wud love to retire at a place like this. The film is about a detective who's wife is on a life support cos of a drunken driver. The detective is chasing a serial killer who's killing dementia patients. Elderly dementia patients? Come on man. The whodunnit becomes very predictable, the motive too becomes very easy to guess. The ending was kinda lame too. The problem with the film apart from being formulaic is that it moves with a very slow pace without any suspense or tension. The 80 mins runtime becomes too long cos of the non engaging script. Well it cud have been a good 45 mins short film or an episode. Nonetheless, the cinematography is good n the effort behind the film is a sincere one.

Formulaic tripe. Skip it. It's a ridiculous amount of conventional stereotypes that make zero sense.

This is a cheaply-filmed movie that is competently written and directed. The plot keeps you watching but the execution leaves you wanting. You need actors who can elicit empathy from the viewer; there is little of that here. Simply put, the lead actors lack the charisma needed to involve us in an otherwise serviceable film. Worth a watch as long as your expectations are held in check. Enjoy the scenery; it's the true star of this middling venture.

Oh my. I never really like to be negative, but this was bad. I did almost watch until the end, but it was a slow build up to a predictable conclusion and so i just switched it off.

The acting was almost embarrassing, had it not been for a couple of bit parts who I felt sorry for as I had no idea why they had let themselves be part of the production. I was constantly waiting for the film to pick up and the slow, drama-class wooden acting, with too long pauses in the script did not help. Maybe it was the direction.

It reminded me of a tense crime drama on the television, but without any sense of tension or drama and the crime was pretty weak in its portrayal.

I just feel bad for those involved.

Even better than Le Tour or a BBC Documentary if you want to get a good nap.
