Janatha Garage is a movie which boldly lacks key entertainment elements that are comedy and good dialogues.However, the movie still pleases somewhat with a realistic emotion. The movie cannot even be tolerated for the second time but if you watch the movie not expecting comedy and good dialogues, you are likely to appreciate the direction of Koratala Siva and acting prowess of Mohanlal and NTR.

The movie bears the story of helping the society which seems to be a common theme in the movies of Koratala Shiva. The story seems very familiar and cliché but few elements in the storyline seem new and realistic only due to the realistic direction and acting.

Negatives:

No attention on details ( for example on showing Bomb blasts, Rajeev Kanakala's reason for denial), ridiculously boring dialogues, lack of sense of humor for any character.

Positives:

Humility NTR has depicted in contrast to his previous movies, complete acting team,direction.

I loved this movie thoroughly. Fantastic story. Excellent acting.

First of all, I want to say I like the storytelling style of Koratala Siva and I like his previous films. Mirchi was a good action movie (starring Prabhas) and Srimanthudu was also not a bad movie. The last one is not great but above the average. After these two commercially successful movies he came to us with Janatha Garage. This is one of the most anticipated movies in this year in Telugu cinema. Junior NTR has a good record in this year. His previous release "Nannaku Prematho" was a critically acclaimed movie and also a hit in Telugu box office. So for this movie we were so excited and were eagerly waiting for this.

As one of the most anticipated movies, I am not telling this is a bad movie. The first half is a little bit slower and needed more catchy scenes. Slow paced tone of the first half may be will bore you. But Junior NTR's powerful screen presence and very eminent dialogues bend you with the story. After the interval, you will experience the full pace and the suspense which will drive you to the end. I am not revealing the story but there is a hidden story which will unlock in the second half. Engaging but not new. Common suspense and thrill with the story and sometimes it is predictable.

Performance wise Junior NTR is the heart of this film and Mohanlal also has done a good job. But excellent acting and screen presence of NTR shadowed all other's performance. The direction of the movie is very average and nothing new. Music is average and not up to the mark. Script and screenplay are choppy and sometimes predictable and needed more shape of the story. Editing is not so good and for this sometimes the scenes continuation missed the clarification and it is like the scenes are jumped and overlapped.

Maybe it will be a record breaking opening at the box office and I assume this will be one of the biggest hits in this year but it could have been better and would be a gem if the director should be concentrated those things which I mentioned above.

Unlike other movies, JG is not Hero Centric film. In this movie "Janatha Garage" itself plays a main role where justice is served to the people in need. Mohanlal essayed the role of a people's man in good way while Jr NTR again shown new variation as a Nature Lover & environmental sciences student, NTR excelled his role very neatly with fresh Screen Presence, the Simple Attire of NTR like a normal guy to next door, new voice modulation all worked out well for Anand (JNTR) Character.

Mohanlal & Jr NTR excelled once again where their performance is concerned. Samantha, Nithya Menon got limited roles but got some scope to act, Rajiv Kanakala got very Gud character while other artists like Suresh, Devyani, Unni Mukundan, Saikumar..all had done their job gud. The camera work done by Thiru is top-notch and Art work done by AS Prakash were very huge. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is Nice but not upto Janatha Garage mark as it has huge canvas he didn't matched that level but BGM in some scenes is very Good, all songs are situational based and lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry are Superb for Rockon Bro, Pranamam songs. Story - screenplay - direction by Koratala Siva, he got very nice subject and he almost succeeded in making it. Editing is Not Great, some unnecessary lengthy scenes can be edited but they kept full scene as it is, but Editing those scenes would have make the movie more crispier. Coming to Dance, we all know that NTR is one of the Best Dancers in India. Pakkalocal b/w Kajal, NTR came out very well where it gave good boosting for mass audience.

Jr NTR is to be appreciated as his greatness lies in letting Mohanlal also dominate the film. No other Telugu star hero would have allowed such a dominant and powerful role of Mohanlal to co-exist in a story. This film is a must watch with family where it got all ingredients like Family Drama, Emotions, Comedy, Action, Social Awareness.

Janatha Garage (2016): Since Temper,NTR has changed his way of story selection and choosing only those scripts which has good emotional depth.In Temper he gave terrific performance as a corrupt police officer and in Nanaku Prematho he gave his most subtle performance ever.Now with Janatha Garage he teamed up with national winning actor Mohanlal. Koratala Shiva,who is famous for his message oriented commercial films(Mirchi,Srimanthudu) directed this prestigious project.How is it??

Plot: Satyam (Mohanlal) establishes an auto garage in Hyderabad in early 1980's. Soon he becomes a leader to their locality. All people in the neighborhood approach him for help and he also "repairs" (bashes up) men who do wrong to the people.In the present day, Anand (NTR), an environmental researcher, studying and living in Mumbai frequently lands in problems for his cases against powerful people who pollute the nature. He also knows how to teach them a lesson by bashing them.On a study exchange program, Anand comes down to Hyderabad and he closes down the illegal quarry of Satyam's son Raghava (Unni). Impressed with Anand's aggressive and righteous nature, Satyam asks him to take over his garage. Why? What is his motive?

Plus Points:

1)Performances: Major plus point of Janatha Garage is the mind blowing performances of NTR and Mohanlal.Their screen presence simply mesmerizes us with such brilliant acting.NTR showed brilliant maturity in this movie especially the scene in GHMC. Mohanlal really leaves a mark in TFI with his performance and surely wins hearts of Telugu people.Devayani as Mohanlal's wife gave good performance.

2)Few scenes in both halves: Janatha Garage is not perfect as it has some clichéd scenes but few scenes are brilliant.Especially the Interval and GHMC scene in second half are remarkable.

3)Dialogues: Dialogues are very good which has good depth in it.NTR style of delivery to those dialogues helped a lot to get connected to them.

Minus Points:

1)Cliched scenes: Janatha Garage has lot of routine scenes.Movie has highly predictable screenplay most of the time.Villains are so poor and there is no emotional quotient is the scenes.

2)Editing: Editing is so poor that it gives a feel that there is sudden jump between scenes.

3)Music: DSP gave average music for this movie.Songs are not good enough but lyrics are brilliant.BGM gives us deja vu feel.

So Janatha Garage has brilliant performances from NTR and Mohanlal,few brilliant emotional scenes but needs few more repairs to make it perfect.

Janatha Garage is not your regular popcorn entertainer which Tollywood churns out every week. It is a character-driven film where the onus is on serious emotions. Though NTR performs brilliantly, Mohan Lal gets a prominent role and this might not go well with NTR's fans. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is a huge plus as all the songs have been composed quite well. Devi's background score in the second half elevates the proceedings to a decent level. Production values of the film are pretty good. Camera work is superb as Hyderabad and Mumbai have been showcased in a wonderful light. Dialogues written by Koratala Shiva are meaningful. Editing is below average as the film needs to be trimmed by at least 15 minutes. Coming to the director Koratala Shiva, he has done just an okay job with the film. Though his thought is good, he takes too much time to establish the story as the film catches steam only after the first half. He makes things predictable and ends the film on a simple note.The film will appeal to the general audience more than the fans. Finally, if you ignore the predictable story line, you may give this film a shot.

This movie created much hype before it's release due to director Koratala siva in which he gained positive reviews from his last movie srimanthudu which is a very big hit and ntr from his last movie NKP,but this movie some how disappointed critics due to its lack of actress characterization,actress screen presence,routine story backdrop,weak story line but the concept of this movie is different like directors last movie,It has theme of controlling pollution and a social awareness to save trees ,i like that idea and ntr's acting is really extraordinary he even admitted that he changed his attitude,acting style etc in interviews prior to the release of movie ..Mohan lal ,Samantha and nithya menon acted very well,Music from DSP is a big plus point and item song 'pakka local' of kajal aggarwal is main attraction in second half and so many feels that climax is some how disappointed..but atlast ntr and siva achieved a hit

Jr. NTR delivered a commanding and restrained performance, deviating from his typical action-hero image. He portrays a nature-loving environmental activist with depth and emotional gravitas. His screen presence, particularly in intense and emotional scenes, received widespread praise. He balanced the action sequences with more subtle emotional moments, showing versatility. Mohanlal, the Malayalam cinema legend, brought an air of dignity and power to his role as the head of the Janatha Garage. His understated performance elevated the film, and his natural acting style added authenticity to his character. His combination of quiet authority and fatherly warmth made him a standout. The chemistry between Mohanlal and Jr. NTR was a highlight. Nithya Menen, though in a limited role, delivered a solid performance. Her portrayal of a strong, independent woman added depth to the film. Despite not having a very lengthy screen presence, she brought freshness and grace to the narrative. Samantha's role was primarily as the romantic interest, and while she did her best with the part, it didn't allow her to showcase her full acting range. Nevertheless, she shared good on-screen chemistry with Jr. NTR and delivered in the emotional scenes. Jr. NTR's matured portrayal and Mohanlal's towering presence were the film's backbone. Nithya Menen and Samantha did well with their respective roles, though the narrative leaned heavily on the male characters. While the supporting cast played their parts convincingly, it was the lead actors that truly shone.

The movie is worth a watch. It has all elements like emotions, violence, family and sentiments. The positive factors are the performance of veteran actors Jr. NTR and Mohanlal. They gave an outstanding and charismatic performance in this film. However, the slow narration leaves us irritated, which is negative one...The unnecessary scenes in the films could have been avoided...Its worth a watch, however. Other actors like Sachin Khedekar, Unni Mukundan, Devayani and Ashish Vidyarthi has given their performance well.

I wish there's a part -2 for the movie..........................................and hopefully no one from bollywood try to remake this movie because i have already watched it 5-6 times and also they are no match for south movies.

Ntr rock in the movie no one can replace ntr jai ntr he done a movie with a good mestage all have to see in theatres stop piracy

if you are pure movie lover want a great cinematic experience.top class performances, excellent technical values forget all stupid comments.watch it. its a story driven movie with intense emotions, few commercial elements. some are commenting about repairs to this movie.i think they need repairs to their mind.very strong,engaging story. this is unique taking.slow narration ? not at all.only some traditional hero fans who always wants their hero roar like tiger will tell you "this is one time watchable.second half boring ".second half is focused completely on story.till end i completely immersed in janatha garage story. you can enjoy the movie only when you connect to the plot without thinking anything about heroism ,comedy, challenging villains etc. erase all your expectations go with open mind..

There are lots of up and down in the movie that makes viewers a bit frustrated. In some of the places movie goes a bit slow but overall its a blend of emotions, action and drama.

In terms of acting, all cast has done very well and direction is also decent.

I recommend to watch this at least once even if you are not a fan of NTR.

I leave the debate whether movie is good, great or bad movie. But its going to be hat-trick to Jr NTR, My first impression came right from title card which has Mohanlal name first and then Jr NTR name. Very impressed with that. Scene immediately after the interval with Rajeev kanakala Mohanlal and Jr NTR and then break up scene with Samantha Ruth Prabhu, both scenes proves NTR again. Ignoring the fight sequences, happy for NTR playing a role again. Mohanlal Jr NTR Nithya Menen eye feast to see them acting but missed a combined scene to all three. Special mention to Cameraman. Mesmerized once again after 24 movie. Looking for faults??? plenty. But Siva Koratala has some how mastered to cover up things. Now read my first line again.

Here is the go word. The movie opens with the plot right away and we are sure that director is not trying to give focus on the regular commercial stuff. This movie starts down right serious. after some time, we feel it is extending and we need some rest now. There comes the classy touch away from the plot, giving NTR a character that tries to convey messages, for saving the environment and at the same time, giving sample for how nature gets angry, by bashing goons left right and all corners demonstrating earthquake and tsunami. we feel that this is novel way of adding humor to the character. Things become repetitive and at times going haywire and after some time, we feel that let us get to the plot now. Then again glimpse of the plot comes, and we end up for a bang on interval, that promises a lot for the next half to come.

Once the second half, starts, we are surely enthralled for the start, and we get the proceedings hitting the roof after the GHMC episode followed by the title track. There you go, this is what we were waiting for since 90 minutes. After the song, a little bit of family drama infused to add more classy touch for the narrative. then we feel that it is going right and looks for a solid stupendous finish. But,, what happened? There comes the problem. the movie does not know how to go and where to end, and how to end. Trouble starts, commercialism added, unnecessary dragged down to the hell dramatic scenes and a regular kind of climax that never seemed new, all feels for it, but alas! a poor finish for a great potential plot in the hand. Not me, everyone would be of this feel, when they come out from the screening. Somewhere, it did not hit right. Blame the screenwriter, director, editing or the narrative which spoils the whole plot.

Technically the movie was visually stunning, every frame. Cinematography by Thiru was top notch, every frame was rich, glowing with lights. Even in darker scenes, lighting was ambient and had a sense of brilliance poured over. Music and BGM by DSP was rocking. nothing to complain. Art department was seen with their efforts, on screen. Brilliant. The less I talk about editing, the better. In one word, Poor. Other technical elements were good.

So finally the movie was drawn out badly from being a decent one, due to the lengthy run time, blame the editor, and the preachy narration towards the end and a regular Indian climax, we have seen many times. This all boils down the over all effect of the good, instances we glimpsed. So a movie that never tries to rise, despite all such powerhouse performances, terrific music, excellent visuals. In the end, Janatha Garage is a film that comes with promise, and ends with the same feel we had it might turn out to be. Just okay. Not good, not bad. So who gets the blame? Since,it has a strong cast, openings are going to create records, for sure, but in the end, this movie will still have just a weekend run. This what worries me.

Worst movie. Complete violence and meaningless. Takes the administration in hands and as always we show the police is useless. the core subject of the film is not clear. Father kills his own son in the end, that kind of violence. What can say anything more? Mohanlal's and NTR acting is worst. Mohanlal's expression throughout the film is constant., Simply no expression. Ntr's English is highlight😁
