I've now watched two episodes of Tracey Ullman's new comedy show and it is absolutely the best. She does not rely on cheap tinny sexual innuendo that is so tired it should be banned. Her humor is definitely British and European characters but as a normal north American I could not be more highly amused. In fact, laugh out loud belly laugh amused.
Dame Judy Dench as a pilfering, toilet-clogging mischief maker who can do anything because 'she's a national treasure' and Angela Merkel, chancellor of Germany as a sexy torch-singing maven are only a few of the unbelievable number characters in the half hour show. The makeup is unbelievable. It takes a few minutes of watching a male character to realize that yes, it is Tracey!
I hope you take my word for it and try this show. You'll be happy you did.

Just found this show and looked foward to it after her brilliant first series - but so disappointed!
To paraphrase the character 'Dennis Pennis', "Hey Tracey - how come you're not funny any more?"
Although her impersonations are good, this show doesn't come anywhere NEAR Tracey's late 1980s show. Love to know what James L. Brookes (creator of her 80s show + Taxi et al) thought of it - I'm sure he would have binned those 'comedy' sketches.
Tracey has outdone herself yet again. It's no wonder that so many of this show's sketches have gone viral around the world, and even used as a teaching aid in universities. Each season is better than the last!!!

I love Tracey Ullman in everything she does. To me, it takes a lot to compare to Tracey Takes on... yet I feel like this is by far her funniest series to date. I watched this on a flight from London to the US and I tried my hardest to stifle my laughter at her Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, and Angela Merkel impressions. Her other characters are all impressive creations in their Britishness. Some of them I can't believe are Ullman in makeup. She never fails to impress me with her ability to transform into a variety of different characters. Also, her Camilla skits had me in an uproar. I very much recommend this show! Give it a shot...Ullman is still at her best!
I'm a big fan of the first sketch show, so gave this one a shot, but sadly was disappointed and, quite frankly, bored. However, I must still praise Tracey Ullman for her talent with impressions.
