MUSIC - Music is done by the new face in tamil industry Santhosh Narayanan who haven't done justice to the songs but the songs are relevant to the situation.

ACTING - R. Madhavan is the "One Man Army" in the movie who took this script into the next level and not even a single time he has disappointed his fans in this movie. The debutante Ritika Singh is awesome with her role in the movie, the real life boxer looks very pretty and very comfortable with Madhavan but the real focus is Madhavan who is just incredible.

DRAWBACKS -

Drawback of this movie is the story, which is not a fresh one as the audience have already experienced the flavor of this type of movies before in Chak De,Mary Kom and like previous ones also in this movie the importance is given only to the coach & player.

Brilliant movie. great active, great direction. Nothing is missing in. Complete love story, sports movie, thriller, comedy, glamor and much more. I would rate it as Madhavan's best active ever. Female character ( Ritika singh) is fabulous. First time i got to know there is such actor in industry. I was forced to search her name after being impressed by her acting. Jalli pataka was awesome, Superb dance. Simple but best choreography. This does not mean all other actors did not well. every single character of this move did best. Very nicely covered pain of non-cricket sports in India. how badly and from which class they are coming. There are many such in India who can bean international champions but not happening, you can see in this move how and why ?.

Irudhi Suttru (Tamil) AKA Saala Khadoos (Hindi) Review:

Sports drama revolving around coach student relationship, corrupted sports committee, Ego clash between players, rise-fall, victory- defeat, romancing coach, different levels of match, featuring aspiring sportsmanship and off course Patriotism these are the essential elements of any sports drama flick. So keeping the same formula but yet producing a refreshing film is a tough task to handle? But Director Sudha Kongara has brilliantly worked on the screenplay to keep this film solid and racy till the end. Take a bow Sudha. Excellent work. Casting: Holds important role for keeping us glued to our seats. Brilliant performances by the leads. Especially Madhavan as Prabhu (Tamil version)/Adi Tomar (Hindi version) has portrayed the role of a ruff, gritty, bitter, hard, raw and muscular coach on his 40s. Wonderful Maddy this would be one of your best performances in your career. The lead lady the boxer who comes to live the dreams of her coach is amazingly believable as an experienced actor Well done Ritika singh. Even without knowing Tamil her lip sync was much better than existing Tamil heroines. Well Supported by some known and unknown faces. Technical: Music, Cinematography and Editing are exactly resonating to the script and has in turn helped to elevate the whole movie experience. Verdict: Mary Kom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Chakde India now Saala khadoos ! Get in for the ultimate boxing ride of this year and let's feel real sportsmanship and patriotism. Good Bollywood sports Movie after a long wait....

Songs are melodious...

Sudha Kongara launched herself strongly in bollywood as a director...

Fight scenes can be done more energetically and some boring scenes could be edited well.

Overall I would say that after a long period bollywood gets a good sports movie...

Iruthi Sutru(Saala Khadoos) Whenever we come across a film directed by a woman (which is few and far between), we tend to have preconceived notions that it would either be a mouthpiece for their gender's domination or a soft mushy romance story. However with 'Irudhi Suttru' Sudha Kongara takes the viewer completely by surprise with her sports drama riding on a love story told in a raw manner which makes for a pleasurable and emotionally moving viewing experience. It isn't just Million Dollar Baby.It's also a story about sibling rivalry. We see a lot of red in boxing dramas, but here we also see bits of Grey.In some situation we feel goosebumps. Screenplay was awesome.All characters performed well.Surely it will be the another milestone for Madhavan.Worth watchable.
