    Okay for kids perhaps

In the pantheon of holiday productions, this may be acceptable, however in the context of all film and television it is sub-par. The story is not well written, much of the acting is at high-school play level, the fashion does not fit the period and, as a result, you become overly aware of it as a production instead of a story. No doubt the producer(s) were doing the best they had with the resources available but the whole thing misses its target.

Not flashy, a great little story

A nice, simple Christmas story. Very enjoyable. Simple camera work, and I imagine was shot on a low budget, and has mostly unknown actors, but has a really great story so doesn't need anything flashy. It has a bit of conflict but not a sad movie (who would want to watch a depressing Christmas movie?), and everything is resolved nicely in the end. My mom and I enjoyed it, it was very sweet, and very much in line with the holiday season. Appropriate for any age.

This story could have been turned into a major motion picture, but instead is just a short, 50 minute movie that moves along nicely and really brings you in. Again, nothing flashy, so don't expect this to look like a box office movie, but a great little story that's worth a watch. I found it memorable.

Not Perfect. Not Even Close. Just Well Worth watching

This is a mini movie. Runs less than an hour but it really has a long set up. Some of those things could have been better. In fact they should have been better.

In this film a very old man revisits the frozen pond each year to relive the happier moments in his life. At the pond he sees Michael. This young man is an unhappy young boy attempting to skate with his dad's skates. He misses his dad who is now missing in action in Korea. Michael and the older man end up forming a bond.

What is nice about this film is that it shows that "All of us are connected" and that at times "We All Need Each Other".

I wish this was on DVD. I can only stream it. I would buy it and give it to my parents.

Now believe it or not kids most likely will not like this. If you are an empty nester then you most likely will have a great viewing experience!

    Skip this Christmas Movie

I watched based on the title and being a Rockwell fan I figured it would be good. Iwas wrong. The lighting is trying too hard to look "old". The acting is middle school drama club level. It is ashame becuase with better writing, director, and acting it could be a movie to pull out every year.

It is a story of a lonely boy who is missing his father who is fighting in Korea. He befriends a grumpy older man. It comes with a bully who steals the main character's skates but sees the error of his ways and returns them. No one is a real villain as no one is a hero. The acting, as I said is bad. Usually it can be made up with a good kid actor, but it is not. The clothes don't match the time period. The whole thing is overlaid in sepia lighting to look "old" it just adds to the confusion of the story. Skip this Christmas Movie.

    Perfect

This is runs under an hour. It is a short story about people struggling for various reasons during Christmas time.

This film brings to life a famous Norman Rockwell painting. Samuel Cavanaugh, a Scrooge like character, revisits the frozen pond each year to relive the happier moments in his life. Michael Grant is an unhappy young boy attempting to skate with his dad's over-sized skates, who was missing in action in Korea. Their paths cross several times as our story unfolds. Its a heartwarming Christmas tale.

The story is a tad predictable but the execution is flawless. It also puts you in shoes of certain people in the story that helps make this Christmas Story well worth watching.

Gather your family and watch this together!
