How did this thing ever get off the ground???

Honestly. Cliche story, somebody got vampires mixed up with zombies, writing is cringeworthy, editing forgot the music somewhere mid-episode and the viewer is forced to endure a cross between a bad soap opera and a C roll horror in a theatre-like atmosphere. And then this monstrosity lasted for 5 seasons but shows like Manifest get canceled? How????

Gaffes
At about the 38 minute mark, during the fight on the roof, Vanessa is stabbed through the hand, with the knife in line with the bones between the middle & ring finger, but a few seconds later the knife had somehow managed to turn 90 degrees to be across the palm when she pulled it out (potentially breaking those bones or severing the tendons).
