Avis à la une
This is a very low budget independent movie with the sole purpose of piggybacking off of the Rob Ford crack scandal and making fun of him. It was probably rushed into production at the time and you can tell based on the incredibly weak script and poor production values. It's not worth watching unless you're really into the whole Rob Ford drama, I am and still wasn't that interested in this. It's kind of boring and very weak. The guy playing Ford is decent but the rest of the actors are very weak.
Filth City is an excellent low budget satirical farce, using Toronto's Rob Ford years as a jumping off point and ending with an impressive body count. It may not be everyone's cup of tea (or bowl of crack), but I found it entertaining from start to finish with a well-written script, credible acting, and engaging characters.
Almost all of the characters are deeply flawed, but at the same time, hardly any of them come off as irredeemable villains, and that's a tribute to the writing. There's a bit of pathos here and there, and a high degree of gore, but mainly, the filmmakers are delivering up comedy. Standout comic performances include Pat Thornton as Mayor Hogg and Chris Locke as a bumbling cop. But really, there are laughs to be had in almost every scene.
The film doesn't take itself too seriously, and as long as you don't either, and you're willing to laugh at all the absurdity, I highly recommend it.

There are a few funny moments in the film, but they're just moments. The story is absurd, but it's more in the realm of crazy and surreal rather than hilarious.
Calling it "low-budget" doesn't excuse the weak script. How much does it cost for paper? I know that time to write a screenplay is not free, but seriously, write a good script before you start shooting. Everything else was done well - the visuals, the sound, etc. But no amount of money could make this script into something good or funny.
Avoid.

No known Actors (for me anyways). Great plot. Great writing. Good acting. Never know what's going to happen. Fresh characters. Honestly, what a joy to watch this movie. Found it by accident. And know what? I'm changing from an initial 9 to a 10. Why? It was so refreshing watching this movie. I really enjoyed it. Filth City is a throw-back crime drama with bits of genius humor throughout. There's a moment when you are almost sympathizing with the bad guy; a fight, some drinks, a truck and I won't say more. Give it a chance, deservedly so. You don't see many original well written surprise your pants off movies these days. Enjoyed it more than the New Star Wars! There, I said it. Happy Holidays!
This movie is a parody of Toronto mayor Rob Ford and his crack smoking scandal, etc. That is all fair game and could make for a very funny movie, unfortunately this movie is not done well enough and is not funny enough to be worthwhile. It's just a bunch of the expected cheap jokes and hammy actors chewing up scenery in one poorly written scenario after another. The guy playing Ford had some pretty funny moments and drags this movie up but overall this movie is quickly forgettable, disappointing given the rich subject matter, and just play not worth the time invested because it's not a good movie and also not even funny. Very disappointed in this one.
