Beautiful Pain (Redha), is the first Malaysian film to tackle autism. In her feature directing debut, Tunku Mona Riza delivers a quiet, compassionate look at the condition which afflicts 1 in 160 children, according to the World Health Organization. Upon learning that their only son has autism, the parent's world suddenly crumbles. With hardly any knowledge about this condition, they struggle to confront the harsh realities of raising an autistic child.

Excellent narrative of the realities of this era's children mental health issues

As a mom, I admire the focus of the story here and the symbolic manners specifically about the mother of the child with autism. We need more of the reflection in this era of GMO'sand radio-electical waves affecting our children. The struggle and despair throughout the encounter with the child's mental harm and the hope that emerges at the end, provides hints of solution and exit ways to the relief of pain.

I'm also critical to the points of reference that the story tries to make to specific faiths. The image of specific faiths are stigmatized and negatively stereotyped in various episodes of the storyline.
