There was basically no plot, at least no plotline resolutions.

Half of the characters are supposed to be from Buffalo but sound like Andrew Dice Clay.

The final scene was so incredibly cringe worthy I laughed through the entire thing. I feel bad for the actual musicians who played in that scene.

Annie Potts is the bright spot in the movie. She's one of my least favorite actresses, so...

If you go into this movie expecting some kind of crazy plot twist or need to be entertained by a lot of action and simple dialogue you'll be disappointed.

This movie is well written with a good plot and excellent acting. The movie is filled with meaningful and seemingly organic conversation.

It is somewhat rare to see a movie with a single father and it was refreshing.

Highly recommend.

Not even ten minutes into the movie and our kids just look at us like, "change the channel" Too many F bombs for a movie based on kids. So hard to find a clean movie that is not cartoon. Very disappointing....

I found the dialogue cheesy and much of the acting, particularly the younger daughter, embarrassingly bad. Oof, such cringing this movie induced.

This is my very first negative review on movies. I'm really disappointed after watching this movie. it will waste your valuable time definitely. However This is a well written movie, as well as it have a great story-line. The dumb cast and the actors ruined this little gem. Almost all the actors are acting very horrible; also, lack of chemistry. Laughing at the serious situations. Especially the younger daughter is the worst character in this movie. Almost every character except elder daughter act very ordinary with lack of emotions. Also the worst cast. I have gave 4/10 for the great story-line. This movie should remake definitely for the equity for the writer with a better cast.

This film brilliantly captures real human emotion, through a broad range of interesting characters. The acting is excellent and it reminds us of all the mistakes we make - children and parents alike - especially when emotions run high. Best of all, it reminds us how unwavering love can help overcome almost anything. Based on this, I will happily watch any movie that John Abrahams makes.

No idea why the critics gave it a 5/10 stars! It's not what I expected and a great film with drama, comedy, and a whole lot of heart. At a distance, some of my male friends deemed it a "chic lick", but after watching it, they stood corrected and thought it was an excellent movie. The people in this film, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera, convey how the tragedy of 9/11 can affect a person and their loved ones. Furthermore, it shows that life doesn't turn out the way you expect it to, how humans persevere, and embrace the silver lining during hard times.

I loved it! For some reason it tugged at my heart and made me think, I loved the story and message!

Being from Buffalo it was exciting to see this movie shot here, but besides that it was a very good story. I wonder how many of us even think about all the kids who are growing up now without a parent because of 9/11? I know many complained about the language but it really did fit with this storyline!

This was a real to life, feel good movie. With a roller-coaster of emotions. Loved all the actors in this movie. Awesome. I just finished it last night and I'm watching it again today with my kids. I don't normally re-watch a movie that soon. 2 thumbs up!

I think this movie should be given more credit than some of the reviews says. It is heart warming, I really liked it.

Although I wouldn't consider this something to rewatch every couple of years, I would definitely come back to this in five. It's a great film that teaches lessons to parents who are struggling to raise their children. These parents can be encouraged by the fact that all parents go through the same struggles, especially with teenagers.

It's the story of an artist who is on the cusp of being famous, but just as his big break comes, his best friends perish in the twin towers on 9/11. He is entrusted with the care of their two daughters and raises them himself.

Jump forward in time about 10 years. He is struggling, the girls are becoming difficult. They must move to Buffalo. This film is about all the emotions and issues involved with this scenario. The girls challenge him to his limits. He meets a nice English woman and they start dating. His cousin and wife are in the picture and help with stuff too.

This is a very endearing movie, especially for the fact it's comprised of a veritably no-name cast. You've seen them all in movies, but can you name them or the movies they appeared in? Probably not.

Highly recommend.
