    Correcting the Title

The title of this show is quite misleading. 'Growing up' generally denotes maturing, moving past childish outbursts, learning to speak with a modicum of clarity and intelligence and truly becoming an adult. It takes only one viewing of this show to realize that this show truly ought to be titled "Aging Hip Hop" as in actual fact that is what is depicted, a group of individuals who may well be 'aging hip hop' but are most certainly NOT 'growing up', in any commonly understood sense of the word. Fighting, screaming at each other, using profanity to excess, it's obvious that their cultural and intellectual growth came to a screaming halt when they achieved a chronological age of somewhere around 8 and no more than 12 years of age. As another reviewer stated, they truly 'dumb down society'.

    Worst Season Finale Ever

I usually enjoy the story lines but the Finale was so so disappointing. It was all focused on the 50th Hip Hop Anniversary. The sound was so off on the performance and didn't sound professional at all. You would think that with all of the experience in the music industry there that it would have had a more quality show. The only good thing that I didn't have to watch was more if Egypt and Sam. Egypt is okay on her own but Sam just brings her down. He is not to be trusted. I liked seeing Romeo back on the show. And this thing with Briana and Cree is just so childish. Briana has a drinking problem I believe and something terrible is going to happen on the show if she doesn't get her act together. Cree has no storyline but just to agitate Briana and she needs to go.

    Absolute Rubbish

Is it Growing up or Grew up hip hop?

Initial Comment: Less Pepa and Damon Dash (and Sam). Enough on that issue. I thought the show was about their kids growing up. It seems like the sideline people are getting more camera time. Also, I'm so tired of Angela going back and forth with Romeo and Bow Wow. I don't think she wants neither of them. She likes the attention and the made up "rift". Now that Romeo is off the show maybe we don't have to endure the Bermuda love triangle anymore. I find it interesting every time she breaks up with a man she poses in bikinis (man catcher).

First Additional Comment: TeeTee wants big wedding rings to show off to everyone. Egypt needs to drop that loser Sam (Sorry Ass Man). He's definitely using the family for their fame. The fact that Sam refers to himself as the Joker should tells us a lot about him. Egypt it's not a compliment to be referred as Harley Quinn. Read the comic books and check out their story. Not glamorous at all. In fact Joker used Harley Quinn. Be careful girl. You are too talented and beautiful for him.

Second Additional Comment: I'm saddened that Sam and Egypt got married. God bless.

    Bottom of the barrel show

Can't stand watching the commercials for this show.

If you want to see a show with drama and nothing but attitude watch this show. Waste your life away.

Growing up with a famous parent isn't easy, as the children often have to work hard to emerge from their parents' shadows and gain independence - especially if they want entertainment careers of their own. "Growing Up Hip Hop" documents the lives of a tight-knit group of friends, most of whom have at least one parent who is famous. Angela Simmons, the daughter of Run-D.M.C.'s Rev Run, is a model and fashion designer; Romeo Miller has followed in the footsteps of his father, Master P, in becoming a musician; entrepreneur Damon "Boogie" Dash is the son of former record executive Damon Dash; singer Kristinia DeBarge, the daughter of James DeBarge, struggles to choose between family and fame; TJ Mizell, a DJ whose father was Run-D.M.C. member Jam Master Jay, views Angela as family since both of their dads were in Run-D.M.C.; and aspiring singer Egypt Criss gets her talent from both mom and dad - Pepa from Salt-N-Pepa and Treach from Naughty by Nature.
