For the most part it works, but nothing that makes it really stand out

This is a fairly entertaining mystery movie about a hotshot lawyer who is cocky as hell trying to solve a murder mystery. It's a pretty mediocre and forgettable movie, maybe it's because I saw this after seeing "The Accidental Detective". But I thought this movie was a alright watch. The characters work quite well with one another and the direction for the most parts are coherent and easy to follow. It really doesn't bring anything new to this genre. Overall it's a generic mystery crime movie with some elements of comedy, but it works alright. Nothing that makes it stand out but it's a okay watch.
