Avis à la une
I was very surprised to hear that this was Marc's first film ever made including a short! The film touches on important topics in society and there are beautiful acting moments from each Actor.
Very inspiring!

Great independent film with a good message. They are homeless not invisible. Captivating film that looks at homeless people from their side of things. How do people end up on the streets. Pretty sure many of us look at homeless people and wonder how you can let yourself get in that situation. This films takes you past what you see as you walk by and helps you understand some of what people have been through or are going through. If everyone sees this film I am sure it will make them adjust how they feel and how they act to some of the homeless people on our streets. If we all do just one thing nice, ask how they are. See if there is anything you can do. Spare some food, clothes, or a little money. A coffee and a chat can make them feel human again. Great work Mark and the team.
I was lucky enough to see Homeless Ashes last night at Everyman Baker Street. I can honestly say I am blown away. Blown away by the performances, directing and cinematography. And blown away by how brave, honest and beautiful it was. It shows human nature in its rawest form. And highlights the chain of problematic causes it takes to lead an individual down the 'wrong path'. I truly believe this film will make an impact on how we see homeless people. It should and it will make us see individuals without homes, as human beings, like ourselves. With stories, and families. Marc Zammit clearly is a very talented director and performer, but what makes him unique is that he is in tune with the human heart and has clearly illustrated this in his feature film debut. I am so excited to see what he does next. And what this beautiful film will do for our community.
Is one of those movie's that succeeds on almost every level, where each character, scene, and dialogue, make a film worth seeing again.
Despite the insane loneliness and some of the high stakes of being stuck alone on the streets, the script keeps, humor and excitement alive in every scene. The Streets especially for a kid alone, would be dangerous and scary, but the joy of seeing the kid Discovering who he is within is heart felt.

#Homeless Ashes...i saw it over a week ago and i am still thinking about it often: to me, a sign of a good film. More than a good film...it is a great and powerful piece of socially relevant drama. It is honest: the film does not romanticise homelessness. This drama understands homelessness; knows it first-hand and gives the homeless a dignified voice and platform for us "others" to try to understand just a bit.
Thank God for Marc Zammit and his determination and commitment not to mention talent. Who else would have made this film other than people coming from the heart. This is not a film a major studio would make...yet. But i do believe this amazing, crowd-funded film with a budget in the range of £100,000 will be a game changer. Beautiful what love and cooperation can accomplish. I know that, because of this film, i walk down my urban streets with my eyes and heart more open than before.
Do go see it...not just because it will teach you or if is the case, reconnect you with, the reality of homelessness. Go see it because it is a beautiful story of love and humanity as well as the tragedy of life full of truth. If you are like me, bring tissues! (Wish someone had told me!) I found that i was completely absorbed in the story and the characters...they were real for me. Yes, still thinking about those characters as i walk down the street...Powerful, raw acting which made for uncomfortable viewing at times but worth the price for the honestly portrayed action.
Oh, and the cinematography and editing were excellent....one scene in particular for me...such effective and inventive use of the camera..you will know which scene i mean. I'm a "punter" by the way, but still we are the ones that matter aren't we?
