I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse

The whole concept is absolute garbage 10 survivors inside a shopping center due to a "Zombie Apocalypse" caused by 5G Wireless who are sent to due tasks from the Military. Please I've seen enough zombie movies and tv shows to know that if the Military was out there they would deal with the zombies A.S.A.P and get survivors out faster then anything knowing they were there.

This concept is god awful and if you value your brain and not turning into a lifeless zombie you will not waste time on this show

I saw a trailer for the show on BBC Three, and it looked really good, the concept of zombie-reality really stood out to me. But sadly after watching the first episode i was really disappointed, it was like watching Big Brother but with "ZOMBIES". I was about to give up on the show, but I decided to watch the second episode, and it was so much better than the first, the missions kept me on the edge of my seat, the zombies gave me genuine shivers, so in conclusion, i would say that, the 1st episode was a serious let down, but don't judge the show after just one episode, the show improves, it delivers on every level,so ill give it and 08/10.

I have given this programme an 8/10.

It has been a great start of the programme let alone I have only watched the first episode. This programme reminded me of a series called Dead Set. Not only it is a reality show. I liked how there are different types of people within the programme. There is another reason why I couldn't add another two stars because there was too much GCI within the transitions but other than that it looked great. The programme does have a comedy side to it and the programme is not predictable as well, which is good. I am looking forward to the next episode.

This series is end of the world Big Brother. However, I have no idea how the 10 survivors actually made it through the undead because they are totally inept. The conclusion the viewer will draw from watching the first episode is that these people did not survive because of skill, they survived by dumb luck.

Seriously, none of these people had the forethought to make basic weapons, set traps, or even bother to try and fortify their bunker. And instead of putting brain cells toward defending against the deadly horde, they sit around discussing 1st world problems until they are given a task to perform.

Adding salt to the wound, only two out of the ten actors would win a role in a community theater production. Viewers will immediately catch on that the dialogue is all ad-libbed and poorly so. The actors would be booted from an improv class on the first day. (I literally watched long enough to see the worst actor of the group die. I was still left unsatisfied)

The wrap around material (British soldiers doing plot exposition via radio and the unfunny animated zombie survival guide) is idiotic and clunky. The narrator, with his smarmy, flippant comments, really needed to be the first zombie kill. It was as if they had no idea what tone they wanted.

The technical side is where this show goes completely off the rails. Supposedly, the audience is only able to see the survivors via surveillance cameras and drones. However, the filming mainly consists of hand-held shots like a full camera crew was present with the survivors throughout their bland "ordeal". The show also spends and inordinate amount of time time doing zombie glamor shots to pad the episode run time. Also, you can hear their body mics rustle under their clothes frequently.

Even done with an obviously low budget, this was an interesting premise that was poorly thought out and executed worse. This show is truly taking something and making nothing of worth.

The entire first episode was slow, contrived, unexciting and lacked any true gravitas. Maybe 5g rotting peoples minds has led to this ridiculously high rating. The zombies are slow and amble around lackadaisically, the 'survivors' can't spend more than about 5 minutes without giggling. Furthermore the story although far fetched seems the most believable part of this sordid pigs ear of a piece of zombie fiction. The web-comic which accompanies the first episode on the BBC website, even references Romero, though I find it hard to believe the director has watched and indeed absorbed any of that masterpiece with the way this has turned out. I found myself unable to watch the entire program, perhaps a format closer to that of the Crystal Maze would of suited this more? Why don't the survivors have any weapons? Where did the military go? If the extraction area was overrun why are the survivors heading there? You get no answers and only more questions. My hearty recommendation is to avoid this like the plague.
