Film is amazing . The films connects us to film. Vijay Sethupathi and Thilak's acting is awesome , a must watch film . it's one of the gem of indian art film industry. The cinematography, direction and editing was done by Biju Viswanath which was amazing

Orange Mittai.... according to the title, movie has both sweet and sour.... Beautifully Revolves around 3 characters. Not a usual melodrama. thanks to the director :-) visuals are interesting.

I would like to add my comments on the reviews. I LIKED ORANGE MITTAi. Father and son challenges are very in depth. I thought Vijay and Ramish interesting and complex characters.I found the story emotional and touched with laughter. A beautiful film with a tender message not the easy happily ever after ending, but daring to express real life. A film to touch your soul, so bittersweet. This film gives you what it promises in its title Orange Mittai. I would be one of those people recommending watching it.

If the message to be a total pain in the ass only Vijay succeeded admirably…kudos to him. But more….to me that was not the message of the film. Vijay's performance portrayed the exact person the film needed to seeing beyond the obvious of realizing he had a heart and adding Ramesh…he missed the mark with his own father and it caused him to pause and change and open his heart to love. This is a win-win situation for both. The film gives us this without sticky and obvious emotions. The film gently works its magic. The director Biju Viswanath presents an emotional challenge with care and humor. Intense balance was given to keep the visual in line with the story.

I was so unlucky that I missed this movie in theatres. Was waiting badly to watch this movie after seeing a few scenes on TV. Thank God, Netflix made it possible. Yaay, I watched it. I should say this is one of the sweetest films I've ever seen. This is not your regular masala movie. This is a brave experiment that needs to be appreciated. The beauty of the story lies in its simplicity. All the characters have played their part very well. Cinematography was top notch. Vijay sethupathi as usual lived his character. This is the first time he had played a character of an aged person. No wonder this man is liked by all. Director Biju's narration needs a special mention. The director has made it clear to keep the narration as natural as possible avoiding all possible cliches. The scene where Kailasam (Vijay sethupathi) gets down from the auto and starts dancing on the road in the middle of the night was a treat to watch. Quirky dialogues ensured every character had their own depth. Ramesh Thilak needs a special mention. His role as a paramedic will be one of his best. Watch it if you like feel good cinema. You won't regret. I have added this film to my list of favourites and will watch it whenever I want to feel light. Orange mittai tasted good. Real good. Thanks to the entire crew of "Orange Mittai". A very moving film.Very well thought out and was shot very well. They dynamic between both characters were very dynamic. It was a very deep and meaningful film. It had a fine blend of comedic timing while with a good balance of dramatic expression. It has a very surreal and expressionistic approach. A great reflection how sometimes relationships do not work out and in some ways time will heal it has a very philosophical approach that many including myself can relate to in regards to loss. A lot of visual metaphorical meaning through out the film. The story shows how a simple gesture might be hard to express in a relationship. Vijay Sethupathi character has impeccable comedic which transcends throughout the whole cast.
