Excellent film explaining the bloody pages of my country! In real, there have been a lot more violence committed by heavily armed russian and armenian forces towards our barefoot Azerbaijan nation! God bless our martyrs who sacrificed their valuable lifes for us to live in peacefully!

I was not born when the events of January 20 took place.

I heard it from my family, my teachers, I watched the recordings. It was a very sad situation. They came before the unarmed tanks of the Azerbaijani people, and most of them were martyred. It was a very difficult situation for the city of Baku, for the people of Azerbaijan, we will never forget it.

I watched this film on an Azerbaijan Airlines flight recently and really wish it had English subtitles. A foreign audience would have enjoyed it.

The acting was very good, and it kept me hooked until the very last moment. Surprising twists and turns as well - very good film!

As a native of Azerbaijan, I couldn't help being impacted by this film in a more powerful way. My family had only briefly spoken about these events which my mother and father personally witnessed, but it was this film that opened my eyes to the reality on the ground during these years. Black January was the day I was told of as the day my mother stood in front of a Russian tank with a Russian soldier pointing a gun at her, and asked to be allowed to go home (her street was blocked), and by some miracle & God's grace, she was allowed to do so. Our parents lived through this and we were too little to know any of this.

A must-watch for anyone who is interested in Azerbaijani history, especially for those who were in/from Baku and witnessed this brutality and difficult time before the modern-day Azerbaijan was established as an independent country.
