I Don't Get The Negative Reviews

I don't care a whit for all the ghost hunter shows that bring in a team to try to document something paranormal with their equipment and claims. To this viewer they're trying to sell a fantasy and if you watch objectively they have no proof. That said I don't get the negative reviews here? These are the actual people that experienced various forms of the paranormal. They didn't want to ever be on TV and they certainly didn't want to experience the things they did. So, in the format of this show I do believe these people actually exist and only by the producer's due diligence do we get to hear of these stories. The difference is they're not going in trying to retroactively find something unexplainable, but in this show real people's real experiences are recreated with the actual participants recollections.

Because I've seen no ghost hunter show of any ilk actually capture anything remotely paranormal I'd rather see real people who truly experienced the paranormal. That is the premise and reason for this show. It's far more interesting and entertaining to me. I even actually have empathy for these people who have suffered. Sometimes they can stay by having the spirits move on and sometimes they have to move. There is no one "fits all" ending. This rings far truer to me than than the ghost hunter ilk. Yeah, if you are going to watch ghost/paranormal shows this is far better.

Eh

Some stories are interesting, some are just stupid. I just fast forward through the really rediculous ones. I never found myself actually believing any of them though. Maybe it was because the reenactments are THE WORST and the narrator is AWFUL. whomever was in charge of hiring actors and writing the scripts for these parts are equally to blame!

Spaghetti

It would seem that the eyewitnesses are geniune and the Canadian low budget nature of the reinactments are reminiscent of the old ghost shows such as "A Haunting" so it was quite nostalgiac. Also every single reinactment dinner scene uses nothing but some cheap looking spaghetti marinara.

Totally wrecked by constant interuptions

What a great program, BUT having to keep my finger on the fast forward button is a nuisance. These women who constantly interrupt my viewing with their annoying repetitive and useless input spoils the whole show. We don't need these annoying people spoiling what could be an excellent program.

People who watch this type of show are fully aware of what an emf meter is, and don't need to be reminded every ten minutes of what it is and what it does, nor do we need these womens opinions on what can and can't be done. Keep your stupid opinions to yourselves please ladies, and leave us to enjoy our show without your useless input.

has gotten a lot better

The first season of this show had elements that made it seem like an amateurish production. Most of it was due to using ordinary people to do the re-enactments and some low budget ghost effects. Both, I would assume, were due to budget constraints. With season two, however, things have gotten better. They have been able to hire professional actors for the re-enactments, and the special effects have improved somewhat. I am surprised by the level of acting ability of the season two episodes. Of course, you know it's just acting (not the actual event), but it's just such an improvement over the stilted and unnatural performance of their season one cast. Some of those actors in season two are very good; I assume they are all Canadian, since the production company is in Canada. There is a large pool of fine under-used actors in Canada to choose from. Apparently, the production company of this show have taken advantage of that. I'm happy that a Canadian show seems to have been able to catch on with viewers. I live in Toronto. By the way, this show now has a narrator who sounds just like Anthony D. Call, the narrator that very long running American production called A Haunting.

Actual Evidence Never Shown.......hmmm...wonder why that would be..

I have seen several episodes of this programme (I am watching an episode as I type) and very often the "survivors" claim to have installed CCTV in rooms and basements and captured footage of things being thrown about, entities, taps turning on etc etc. Never does this programme show any of the footage. In the episode I am currently watching a couple who own a tattoo shop claim their CCTV captured their shop being trashed by a ghost one night, and that photographs taken in the basement captured a large threatening figure at the far end of the basement. Guess what? The footage and photos are never revealed. Instead the programme provides a ridiculously laughable reconstruction of what the "survivors" claim they captured on CCTV/camera. The claimed footage/photos would be gold, a smoking gun, near irrefutable proof. Why is it never shown? Because it never happened. This programme is so fake, and so dull. And please, do not say that people lose things over time. Not that kind of stuff and not by every "survivor". Dire indeed.

It's a story show

The show is not to prove ghosts exist. The stories might be exaggerated to make a better story, but as far as I know the actual hauntings did happen. The difference between good and bad ghosts are pretty cool.

Great Show

This show is great. I watch all these shows and this is one of the best. I just found it on Discovery Plus which has loads of theses shows. Cant believe i missed this one it was from 2015. They should still be making it. Really well done. Only short coming is the Experts they have explain the same thing each time, they are a-bit funky. But i still give it a 10.

One of the paranormal investigators uses the Ghost Radar app?!

Ridiculous. The only saving grace (barely) is the interview segments with the actual witnesses. Everything else is laughable. Same locations being used over and over for different stories, actors who don't even remotely resemble the actual people, cheesy sound effects, cheesy visual effects... pretty much par for the course. And where's the evidence that witnesses keep telling us about? We keep hearing about video / pics / EVPs but instead of the actual evidence all we get is corny overly dramatic recreations. The only real entertainment value is laughs.

You got me.

I love these type of stories on tv that expose the activities of the paranormal. And this show is included. I know in the beginning it wasn't its best and obviously the people probably thought the cast and producers were a bit off, but you can tell they've gotten better and more comfortable with what they're doing. And it shows. I do wish they included a little more information or follow ups on smaller stories or any story really.

S5 E10 Evil Intent best ever!

The second story about Bethel haunting was chilling. The paranormal expert was on her game, and I loved seeing both tried and true, and high tech methods used to try and solve conflict respectfully between the living, and those who have gone to the great beyond. Keep these compelling stories coming. And I'd like to see more of this particular paranormal expert 😀. Love this show and love this particular episode the most to date!!

Lynn's Lake House Season 2 Episode 13

My wife has been binge watching this show on Netflix or Amazon Prime, one of those two. She has subtitles on, and all I see in between the talking captions are, "Foreboding music" and "Eerie music". I just happened to pass by when on this particular episode of "Lynn's Lake House," someone mentioned they all went downstairs to try and collect more evidence. That person then said while downstairs, they all saw something moving on the porch and an investigator decided to take a photo.

This caught my interest, being a photographer by trade. It showed a cropped image of a woman appearing in her late twenties, early 30s in old fashioned clothing on what looked like a raised porch that required steps to get up on. She was lit up from the bottom, and was semi transparent. Then the program showed the rest of the image, and a man's semi transparent head, lit up by the same light from below, was also seen in the uncropped photo. It was as if the man was trying to position the off camera flash for the "ghost". They then passed the "photo" around the kitchen table, just showing the white backs of what were to be oversized photos, without showing the actual photos. Then the reenactor, I guess portraying Lynn, the namesake of the episode, said how that was indeed Aunt Helen, and how she owned that house for sixty years and didn't want anyone in it. I could of sworn that I saw the same man from the photograph sitting at the table while they were passing the photo around.

I was saying aloud, "If this is supposed to be the actual photo, then this is definitely not Aunt Helen!" My wife then turned to me and said, "Well, it is a reenactment of what happened!" I told her, "One of the investigators for the show took the photo. It is supposed to be of Aunt Helen in ghost form on the porch. Why must they need to recreate the photograph? Are they needing a signed model release from Aunt Helen? Is her ghost going to have her lawyer sue them for using her likeness in this episode?" It was then that I saw the reviews here of the extreme lack of evidence and decided to add my own review.

Fun ghost stories, but that's all you get

I am amused by people's ghost stories. This program uses dramatizations to portray a personal experience, and "paranormal experts" that validate them somehow. I get the sense that a lot of the people are seeking attention. Of course, these are all fictional accounts of people that have either convinced themselves they experienced a paranormal event, made it up completely, or exaggerated a creepy moment or feeling. For all the accounts where paranormal investigators looked into a "haunting" and are interviewed, it's pretty clear it's phony when they claim there were strange things going on, but they don't have any evidence - which obviously is what any skeptic would expect. This is more or less how all these shows are, and even when so-called evidence is shown, it's at best a strange phenomenon and not proof of ghosts or demons. People carry all types of energy, feelings, experiences and superstitions, and psychologically, many factors contribute to these events, but they are not hauntings. If you watch, do it for entertainment purposes.

Half-hearted cheap ghost stories show.

I made the mistake of watching this show after watching through all the episodes of the show Paranormal Witness.

Paranormal Survivor is really bad, here's what I disliked most about it:

They've used the same settings between different shows, the same house used a few times, the same attic used on two different shows/stories.. so you know the house the person is telling the story about is not the house being shown. This made it difficult to become immersed, because I knew the stories weren't actually taking place in the house I was looking at.

This show contains a hefty dose of cheesy American production techniques. There's cheesy smiling ghosts even though the person says "they had a dead stare on their face". No, in the re-enactment they're smiling broadly. There's also cheesy looking 'demons' with red make up, horns and outstretched 'scary fingers' so bad I laughed and shook my head in disgust.

The actors in the re-enactments are very poorly directed or just amateurs. All the actors look like they were drama students practising acting. "ok, now look surprised!" :O "now look scared!" :{ Also, quite a few of the actors look nothing like the person telling the story which left me confused in a few episodes as to who was meant to be who. In more than one episode a skinny person is played by an obese person. It's distracting and again, kills the immersion.

They dump various paranormal "experts" into episodes without any background info so that I was constantly asking "who's this expert??". They also said nothing of any importance, they just gave justifications for things like "sometimes when people die, they don't know they're dead", and "it's normal to feel a cold patch when a ghost is nearby". After just a couple of episodes I started fast-forwarding whenever the "expert" would appear and start saying nothing of any importance. It's just like they felt obliged to have completely unknown "experts" talk because other shows do too.

The only positive was that I enjoyed the ghost stories themselves true or not.

Honestly though, if you want a quality production with excellent and enthralling re- enactments, avoid this and watch Paranormal Witness instead. The only thing I loathe about Paranormal Witness is the cheap, cheesy and laughable jump scare right at the end of the credits. It's such a pity American TV has a tendency to equate ghosts with cheap jump scares "boo!". That stuff is just really unscary and I don't know why TV shows seem unwilling to let the cheap tactics go.

Actors

I feel like your show would be a little bit better if The actors have a genuine look it seams fake because of your reenactments your actors make it cheesy there trying to play a tough person or something like that just making genuine Plus when the Survivor says something or like they did something in this way or or they look here and then did this but your actors kind of do it differently that's kind of bad I suggest you guys review your shows and figure out what I'm talking about

No, I am not a spoiler

It is this program that is the spoiler. What drab awful mindless crap. Tell me, what is the average education level of these "victims?" Why is it that they all seem about the same. I know!! Anyone with any education realizes what phony crap these "investigators" are displaying.

Where are the people that want quality programs on the TV? Certainly not at this studio. Now, how do I know that this is the same script show after show after show?? Unfortunately one of my family members watches this filth. And I'm asked to leave the room because I keep pointing out the falsehoods, it irritates them. Even though they realize I am right!! I say, watch it on Comedy Central!! That's about all it's worth. You phonies should be banned from broadcasting anything on TV.
