A good series. Well seasons 1 & 2 anyway. Pity about the crazily overdramatic music and narration. One gets the impression that if a lizard were to pop out from under a rock and stare at the rig for some reason, it might burst into flames and destroy the entire Outback. The rig, not the lizard .... although.
Seasons 1 and 2 were great. A nice peek into the world of an outback trucker. Beautiful scenery, ingenious roadside repairs, and interesting characters make it a fun show. Season 3 is almost ruined by the narrator's manufactured drama. Every single scene is "If the driver doesn't do (whatever), the consequences could be catastrophic". Hope the following seasons get back to the original style.
Interesting subject matter, but the narration is terrible! Every single step anyone takes could lead to disaster!
The narration ruins an otherwise good show. I like the drivers, the equipment, the challenges, the backwoods roads, and the scenery, but sometimes I have to shut off the sound, because it SUCKS!! Stop the dramatics!
Enjoyed this show emmensly, the couples working together were a study in relationship skills.
It seems most of the reviewers here note how dramatic the narrator makes "possible" scenarios seem, and I too find him a little over the top. But overall, I loved this show, especially when watching this calms my anxiety attacks, provided they're not too bad.
I think the crew did an awesome job of finding interesting things to film. I can count the number of times I saw them in a shot on my fingers on one hand, and some of the positions they put themselves into for a certain shot were incredibly dangerous. Hopefully they got hazard pay. And there were the shots from drones that were amazing. I read the top speed of a hobby drone is around 160 mph, so I can see how they can keep up with the rigs.
Hopefully they.
