Avis à la une
A really good independent UK horror film, filled with some good laugh moments as well as the humour that is quintessentially British. The work on the production value of this film is clear, despite the low budget that would have been associated with it - and certainly worth a watch.
I wish this film had just a little more money for the Werewolf effects ......it suffers a lot when seen. But that's the only real criticism...... it's not about Oscar winning FX it's about fun.
Cheap British horror comedy with a great script and cast (familiar faces from UK soaps). The banter between the three extras from the pub (The Severed Arms) was really funny and I found myself laughing out loud. A pleasant surprise.

I loved this, it's a very, very British comedy/horror, leaning way more in the comedy direction. There's not an ounce of fat anywhere in the 80 mins, the story is tighter than The Hulks speedos, every line, scene and expression has purpose and adds to the whole. The stand out for me was the hapless D.I, played by Pablo Raybould, who also wrote and directed, a fact that usually doesn't mean much to me but on this occasion I thought deserved a mention. The icing on the already sugar laden cake is the Werewolf in London references, very blatant and in no way looking for comparisons, more a doff of the cap I think. Don't let the cover fool you, this isn't a horror film, it's a fangtastically (sorry), funny movie with a werewolf in it.
It's a (very) low budget British comedy that happens to include a werewolf. The title, apparently a ham-fisted allusion to The Howling, is typical of this movie's level of sophistication. It's not scary and it's not trying to be - which is fine: there are a lot of excellent comedies that utilize horror conventions. The problem is that this one simply isn't funny. You get the sense they were going for talky, dry British humor and deadpan snark, but it all comes across as stale and forced.
It has the same basic premise as 2022's Wolf Manor (or Scream of the Wolf depending on where you're watching) which, by no means excellent, is a vast improvement over this 2018 effort.

Its daft humour, which did have me laughing along. Quite a few nods to AWIL, had me looking in the background for those nuggets. The torn jackets hanging on the pub door etc.
I'll happily have a pint of Howling Wolf. Cheers to werewolf films, may there be many more.

- AnecdotesThe patient in the hospital was Albert Moses, the porter in 'An American Werewolf In London'. The lines delivered to him were the ones he delivered to his patient 30 years ago.
Albert Moses also starred in the much popular 1977 TV series "Mind Your Language", as Ranjeet Singh.
- GaffesShortly after the start of the movie, Mike enters the bar, complaining about how bad the rain is outside. His black leather jacket is soaked, yet his hair is dry and neatly combed. If he'd been walking in the rain for as long as it's shown, his hair should be wet.
