Höre die Stille

A low budget German film but very well run from start to finish. It is true that some performances leave much to be desired but the film generates emotions, it has a strong plot, suspense, drama and action. Very good art direction, excellent scripts and a very good cinematographic direction in general.

Höre die Stille (2016) is a surprising gem in low-budget filmmaking, particularly given its origins as a student project. What stands out immediately is the film's ability to create an immersive, tense atmosphere with limited resources. The cinematography is effective in maintaining a consistent level of suspense throughout, pulling the viewer into its stark, war-torn setting. Considering this was a film made for tv it is very good and very well made showing horrors from WW2. Not sure why they called it behind enemy lines as it is called Hore die Stille which translates to Hear the Silence. IMDB has gotten it all messed up.

Given that this was filmed as an end of year class project, then this is an commendable effort especially where a shared prop coat gives a new meaning to 'low budget'. A tragic tight story line, that could be told in other times and places, such as yankees upon a backwater group of confederate homesteads.

Unfortunately, man has yet to learn to live peacefully with others, despite differences. Certainly a wee handful of us has ;) , but humanity has a long way to go.....Lord Jesus, quickly come!!
