In my opinion, the series Al-Hajjaj is one of the most compelling historical dramas worth watching. It delves deeply into the life of Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf al-Thaqafi, portraying his complex personality with remarkable detail. Abed Fahed's performance stands out, capturing Al-Hajjaj's intelligence, political acumen, and notorious severity. The way the series presents historical events is engaging and avoids dullness, providing insight into the struggles of the Umayyad era. The script is strong, offering a balanced depiction of Al-Hajjaj as both a ruthless figure and a strategic leader. I particularly appreciated the exploration of his psychological and human dimensions. The direction pays close attention to historical accuracy in costumes and set design, which enhances the authenticity of the narrative. This series is perfect for those interested in history and political drama, as it raises thought-provoking questions about leadership, justice, and power.
Astonishing performance by the lead actor to create not only a believable act, but lively vibe to the historical period. Abid Fahad's strong performance is only augmented by the synergy of Faiz Qozk's acting that's successfully shown in a very convincing way akin to how it was historically between Abdulmalik Bin Marwan and AlHajjaj. These two ruled every scene they had. I watched this back in the days as a teenager and recently and I still find it very compelling and attractive to go through. The aging cinematography only augments this as a time piece that will probably keep low profile gaining more followers and watchers through the years.
I hope we get an upscaled 4K version one day, it's an amazing historical piece.... Still not topped in my opinion.
