Madea's Tough Love

Madea's Tough Love (2015) is the only animated movie in the Madea franchise and it wasn't written or directed by Tyler Perry and it was pretty okay.

Positives for Madea's Tough Love (2015): Having this movie be an animated feature is the best thing to do with the character of Madea and the franchise as a whole and I had a fun time with this movie. You have a much sillier tone with these characters and the movie embraces it very well. I was also happy to know that Tyler Perry didn't write or direct this movie and the movie is almost void of all the issues with the live-action Madea movies. This is the first Madea movie to have a story to tell and it is by far the best story in the franchise. I was so happy to see Madea getting punished for the horrible things she has done in this franchise and seeing her act like a decent person was satisfying to watch. Kevin Michael Richardson was great as Judge Michaels and just seeing him telling Madea that she has to help the kids win their game and getting the money to save their home is wonderful. Betsy Holiday was a good villain for this movie and she is very cartoonish and over the top with her evil plan. And finally, the movie has great pacing as this is the shortest Madea movie at only 64 minutes.

Negatives for Madea's Tough Love (2015): There are still some issues here as this is a Madea movie. Madea is still a horrible person to have as the main character of a movie as she is being mean to the children at the beginning. The humor is still cringe worthy and bad even if it isn't nearly as bad as the live-action movies. The opening scene with Madea in live-action is absolutely atrocious to get through. And finally, this is the only time that the Madea franchise will go the animation route and it is going to be painful to go back to live-action.

Overall, Madea's Tough Love (2015) is easily the best Madea movie I've watched thus far and I wish there were more animated movies in this franchise, but unfortunately I have to go back to watching the live-action movies again.

Madea's Tough Love (2015) is a move that I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows Madea getting sucked into an animated world when she hits the wrong button on her remote. Even in the animated world she has trouble with the law which leads to her being assigned community service. She uses this assignment/opportunity to try and save a youth center from being shutdown.

This picture is codirected by Ben Gluck (Brother Bear 2) and Frank Marino (Futurama) and contains the voices of Tyler Perry (Gone Girl), Cassi Davis (Act of Faith), Rolonda Watts (JAG) and Kevin Michael Richardson (Mortal Kombat).

The animation in this was pretty good and reminded me a little of The Family Guy. The courtroom scene was my favorite part of the movie and the back and forth was hilarious. The overall dialogue was inconsistent but there was some worthwhile comedic content here and there. The villain was good but the ending and resolve was over the top and a bit overdone. There is a good message in here though.

Overall this is a very average movie that is worth seeing once. I would score this a 5/10.

I mean it's kinda good.....right!? The jokes are basically comedic violence and random=funny moments which aren't that funny,but made me slip out a few laughs! The animation is ok,if it were made from a show and not a whole entire MOVIE!!!!! Tbh the characters are enjoyable,they have character development,and they kinda feel like humans!

Improvements- I did not like the way the movie did the 4th wall break! If your gonna break the 4th wall,pls make it good. Also the way medea treated the main Villan at the end just wasn't right! The villan was accepted her fate of doing community service but median treated just made life harder for her is jsut unsatisfying.
