Fremantle’s revenue fell 5.4% in the first half of 2025 to €905 million ($1.053 billion), largely due to lower U.S. sales and phasing effects, as parent Rtl Group accelerated its shift toward streaming and confirmed its acquisition of Sky Deutschland. The decline was partly linked to the first half of 2024 benefiting from a spin-off of “America’s Got Talent.”
On Friday, Luxembourg-based Rtl Group reported group revenue of €2.781 billion ($3.236 billion) for the six months ended June 30, down 3.2% from €2.872 billion ($3.343 billion) a year earlier. Greg Gutfeld Hugs Jimmy Fallon and Plugs His Game Show in Fox News Host’s First Late-Night Crossover
Greg Gutfeld made his broadcast late-night debut on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Thursday evening, marking a rare network crossover with the Fox News host visiting NBC’s 30 Rock.
A conservative media personality is a rare booking for “The Tonight Show” and the 10-minute segment between Gutfeld and Fallon largely steered clear of politics. After being introduced to the stage, Gutfeld met Fallon with a big hug, lifting his own feet off the ground mid-embrace before taking a seat. Gutfeld then nosedived into a story about meeting Fallon roughly 15 years ago at a Hell’s Kitchen bar, in which both parties were “wasted.

[Warning: The following post contains major spoilers about Dexter: Resurrection Episode 6, “Cats & Mouse.”] Dexter Morgan (Michael C. After Mia a.k.a. “Lady Vengeance” (Krysten Ritter) was arrested for her many murders — and one attempt foiled by Dexter — all of Leon Prater’s (Peter Dinklage) crew went into crisis mode. Charley (Uma Thurman) scrambled to gather and calm — or perhaps just control — his secret friends, while Gareth a.k.a. The Gemini Killer (David Dastmalchian) and Al a.k.a. Rapunzel (Eric Stonestreet) worried she might turn them in and needed to be dealt with. Prater, who was in the middle of a publicity stunt (being interviewed by Lesley Stahl and the like), didn’t seem to disagree. Dexter was not a fan of Gareth’s blasé (and sexist) attitude about Mia, and he was especially disgusted by him after looking at photos ...

Created by Sam Boyd and executive produced by director-writer Paul Feig, the 2020 rom-com series Love Life is now streaming on Netflix. Season 1, starring Anna Kendrick (A Simple Favor) sets up what to expect from the series: a single person in their 20s or 30s navigating New York City dating, and an exploration of how the different people we get involved with can shape our lives until we meet the one. The show also serves as a time capsule of both NYC and life prepandemic — the first season begins in the early 2010s, an era when Fetty Wap played at bars, Serial was the podcast of the moment, and the musical Hamilton had a chokehold on the theater world. Season 2 takes place a few years later and follows Marcus, played by The Good Place’s William Jackson Harper. Scroll down for a deep dive...

“I can say there’s a huge shake-up in the very first episode that portends the big drama to come in Season 14,” says Chicago Fire showrunner Andrea Newman. And that’s coming on the heels of the on- and offscreen drama that ended Season 13! Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Severide (Taylor Kinney) learned they have a baby on the way; Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) was proven innocent of trying to murder his wife’s killer; and it’s been reported over recent months that Daniel Kyri, who plays Darren Ritter, and Jake Lockett, who plays Sam Carver, would no longer be series regulars, while Michael Bradway, who plays Jack Damon, Severide’s younger half brother, is departing because of a scheduling conflict with another project. But there is a new face joining the ranks of Firehouse 51. Brandon Larracuente was cast as ...

It’s just the way life goes: When you don’t want snow on your shoot, you’re gonna get it. And when you want it, you won’t get it.
That’s exactly what happened for “1923” co-production designers Cary White and Lisa Ward for the Taylor Sheridan show. On Season 1, they were nearly driven out of Montana by the snowfall near the end of production — and they were not trying to put any hint of winter weather onscreen. Season 2 was supposed to have all of its Montana-set scenes in the most frigid, snowy, brutal winter, and… well, you probably see where this is going.
“We prayed for snow,” said White, who, along with Ward, supervising art director Sean Ryan Jennings, and set decorator Carla Curry, received a 2025 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Period or Fantasy Program. “And we got it, but on the last day of shooting.

Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) has taken down a Hyde, unraveled a generations-long conspiracy, and even traversed the dangerous hairpin turns of teenage friendship (terrifying!). Yet in Wednesday Season 2, the titular sleuth finds a “thorn in her side” even she didn’t expect: her mother, Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Zeta-Jones tells Tudum, “Morticia and Wednesday’s relationship lends itself to times of separation.”
But there will be no absence to make the heart grow fonder in the new episodes of the fantasy drama. In Season 2, Morticia and her husband Gomez (Luis Guzmán) move onto the grounds of Nevermore Academy as Morticia becomes the chairperson of the school’s fundraising committee. Now Wednesday’s parents are no longer a crystal ball phone call away — they’re tangoing right in her backyard. Morticia’s new gig allowed the Wednesdayteam (including director and executive producer Tim Burton and co-creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough...

Mike White loves to cast Survivor alums on The White Lotus. Natalie Cole, Carl Boudreaux, Christian Hubicki, Angelina Keeley, Alec Merlino, and Kara Kay have all appeared in guest star and cameo roles in the show’s three-season run on HBO. But Survivor host Jeff Probst doesn’t think he should be recruited for the next cameo from his reality competition show. Probst shared his thoughts on why now two-time Survivor contestant White loves the show so much, and why he would come back to the play the game after the success of The White Lotus, in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Probst argues that Survivor and The White Lotus are both studies of human behavior, theorizing that White learned a lot about that from watching and playing Survivor. “I’m surprised people aren’t asking, ‘Why is one of the greatest writers in the history of Hollywood so interested in Survivor?...

Lauren Greenfield wasn’t expecting an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series for her five-part FX documentary series “Social Studies,” which documents in disturbing detail over one year the intimate relationship between high school kids and their cell phones. Greenfield is happy to grab more attention for the series, because she’s on a mission. Known for her film portraits of upscale society in “The Queen of Versailles,” “Generation Wealth” and “The Kingmaker,” this time Greenfield casts her eye on a wide swath of Los Angeles teenagers.
“At a time when people are paying more attention to celebrity,” she told me on Zoom, “it’s quite difficult to get a serious show like this out into the world to find its audience.” The concern with social media’s impact on teenagers is universal, Greenfield learned on her global promo tour. “This topic has touched a nerve worldwide, because...

A tough bounce — the loss of rights to show NBA games — likely crimped Warner Bros. Discovery’s ability to attract advertising dollars during the most recent TV “upfront” market, with the company declining to reveal its level of ad commitments despite most of its rivals having done so.
The company acknowledged Thursday in a letter to shareholders that “negotiations for the U.S. upfront are largely complete,” noting that it “enjoyed strong pricing and resilient demand for sports programming, and firm pricing for general entertainment.” But there was no guidance for whether the volume of ad commitments it secured was greater than,...

CBS’s decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert remains a major topic of controversy, but aside from the initial statement issued by the network, executives have stayed largely silent about the debacle — until now. After Skydance’s takeover of Paramount became official on August 7, Paramount Global TV Media Chairman George Cheeks made a statement addressing the end of The Late Show. “The challenge in late night is that the advertising marketplace is in significant secular decline,” Cheeks stated at a press conference. “We are huge fans of Colbert, we love the show, unfortunately, the economics made it a challenge for us to keep going.” The comment reaffirms the company’s stance from the original announcement that the decision was financial and not based on Stephen Colbert’s criticism of Paramount’s recent settlement with Donald Trump. He went on to further state that it was Taylor Tomlinson...

As a kid, Brian Tyree Henry was blind for about a week. Well, not really, but he really committed to pretending, just as he did when he adopted a British accent for days or started his own sign language.
Henry grew up with four much older sisters, which propelled him to grow up fast. “I was always trying to catch up with the adults,” he recalls. “And instead of asking questions I would observe and then go do it.”
But he also clung to the fun of childhood, especially since he needed to both entertain himself and strive to get attention.

Donnie Wahlberg got candid about why Boston Blue is filming primarily in Toronto instead of Boston in a new interview. This comes after fan backlash about the location was spurred by footage of Wahlberg and Mika Amonsen filming in Canada in late July. According to the New Kids on the Block star, the Blue Bloods offshoot has to film in Toronto because of the “dire straits” the TV industry is currently in financially. On a more positive note, he said that Boston Blue “is going to blow people’s minds” when it comes to guest appearances in the series premiere. The comments came in an appearance on the Billy & Lisa in the Morning podcast on August 7. Wahlberg, a Boston native, assured that they’re still filming Boston Blue in Boston, saying that he played a big part in making sure that happened. Wahlberg said in Instagram comments in July that...

I’ll say it upfront: We don’t need more Emmy categories. Between the two Creative Arts Emmy Awards and the Primetime ceremony, there are already 123 awards set to be handed out next month. And that’s just from the L.A.-based TV Academy; New York’s NATAS passes out hundreds more in daytime, children’s & family, news, sports and more. And then there are the local Emmy chapters all over the country, handing out trophies as well.
We live in Peak Emmy times. So take this all with a grain of salt: I do wonder if the 1950s...

Superstore scene-stealer Jon Miyahara has died at the age of 83. He was known for playing the silent but hilarious Cloud 9 employee Brett Kobashigawa throughout the NBC comedy’s six seasons. Superstore‘s Colton Dunn confirmed Miyahara’s death on Instagram on August 6. A cause of death was not shared. “[Jon] Miyahara aka Brett from superstore has sadly passed away,” Dunn wrote on Instagram. “[Jon] was a really awesome guy and as a performer could speak volumes with just a look. He was such a memorable part of the Cloud 9 team. It was an honor to know him and work with him. I was lucky enough to meet some of his family and my thoughts are with them. Rest in Peace [Jon].” Brett hardly spoke in Superstore. It was the character’s signature bit to not be talkative but instead speak volumes with deadpan reactions. One of his few lines in the...
