'Silo' Season 3 Digs Up a Massive Update
Image
We're officially one step closer to stepping back inside Silo 18. Apple TV+ announced via X with a behind-the-scenes photo that filming has wrapped on Season 3 of its critically acclaimed dystopian series Silo starring Rebecca Ferguson. Work isn't done just yet on the Hugh Howey adaptation, though, as the series lead previously teased to Collider and later confirmed that the fourth chapter of Juliette's story will be filming back-to-back with the upcoming season. For those at home, however, it means the countdown is on until the show picks up from where that shocking finale left off. A release date has yet to be set.

Based on Howey's Wool trilogy and helmed by Graham Yost, Silo has centered on the remnants of humanity who have been kept sheltered from the inhospitable conditions outside in deep, suffocating multi-layered facilities known as Silos. The series has primarily followed Juliette Nichols as her investigations...

Why Did the Algorithm Choose This ‘Silo’ Season 2 Character?
Image
Editor's Note: Spoilers ahead for Silo Season 2.Silo Season 2 ends on a fiery note, and one that leaves many things up in the air for the upcoming Season 3. Among the many questions we have is one related to the Sims family: Why did the Algorithm only allow Camille (Alexandria Riley) to stay in the vault and not her husband Robert (Common) and their son Anthony (Oscar Coleman)? They are in the middle of a rebellion that is threatening the survival of their silo, so, given how Robert is the Judge and has just become Bernard Holland's (Tim Robbins) shadow, shouldn't he be allowed in, too? What is so special about Camille that made the Algorithm single her out?...

‘Silo’ Season 3 Casts Jessica Henwick, Ashley Zukerman
Image
“Silo” Season 3 is already building out its cast.

Variety has learned that both Jessica Henwick and Ashley Zukerman are set to appear as series regulars in the upcoming third season of the Apple TV+ post-apocalyptic drama based on Hugh Howey’s “Wool” novel trilogy.

Zukerman will play Daniel, described as a “young and hungry congressman,” while Henwick will play Helen, said to be a “whip-smart reporter.” Both actors recently appeared in the Season 2 finale and will continue in the same roles in Season 3.

The casting news comes roughly one month after Apple renewed the show for both Seasons 3 and 4, with Season 4 set to be the final season.

Henwick’s previous TV credits include “Game of Thrones,” “Iron Fist,” and “Silk,” while she has also been in films like “Glass Onion,” “The Matrix Resurrections,” and “The Royal Hotel.” She is repped by CAA, imPRint, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Review: Silo season 2 delivers a riveting penultimate episode with "The Safeguard"
Image
The penultimate episode of Silo season 2 is out, and the time for major revelations is upon us. "The Safeguard" finally sheds light on the bigger picture of what's going on in Silo 17, where Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) discovers she and Solo (Steve Zahn) weren't quite as alone as they thought. And in Silo 18, Lukas Kyle (Avi Nash) cracks Salvador Quinn's code, leading him to a shocking discovery.

We've got a lot to talk about, so let's get to it. As always, there will be Spoilers beyond this point.

Rebecca Ferguson as Juliette Nichols in Silo season 2. | Image: Apple TV+. Silo Episode 209 review: "The Safeguard"

"The Safeguard" opens with a fairly mind-blowing sequence: 10 straight minutes of the teenage newcomers in Silo 17 showing how they were there the entire season. Silo deftly weaves their appearances into a few scenes, such as when Juliette's rope broke in the season premiere. This is...

10 Best Characters In Silo, Ranked
Image
Warning: There are spoilers ahead from Silo season 2, episodes 1-8.

Silo is one of Apple TV+'s best science-fiction series, with the characters being one of the show's greatest strengths. While the story begins with Holston Becker (David Oyelowo) and Allison Becker (Rashida Jones), it quickly becomes clear that they are only the entry point to a much larger story. Even though she is not introduced until the end of the first episode, it is the engineer Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) who leads Silo's cast of characters.

With many pivotal and likable characters killed in the earliest episodes, this paves the way for characters with initially smaller roles to become more prominent in the story. Silo season 1's game-changing ending also opens the door for a wider range of characters to receive focus after Juliette goes outside, and is exposed to more of Silo's world. Of the many characters to choose from,...

Review: Silo Episode 207, "The Dive," is a standout episode for a great season of television
Image
Another week, another fantastic episode of Silo, Apple TV+'s science fiction show based on the bestselling book trilogy by Hugh Howey. We're seven episodes into Silo's second season, and at this point it's clear: this show is incapable of being bad. But even by its own rock-solid standards, "The Dive" is a banger of an episode from start to finish.

We're back to splitting the focus between Silos 17 and 18. In the former, Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) is forced to go on a perilous underwater mission to keep the derelict Silo from flooding. In the latter, the populace edges closer to outright rebellion as order slips through Mayor Bernard Holland's (Tim Robbins) fingers.

There will be Spoilers for "The Dive" beyond this point.

Silo season 2, episode 6 review: Billings makes a choice
Image
Billings did not have an easy time in Silo season 2, episode 6. Now he’s questioning everything, but which side did he end up choosing?

Caution: This post contains Spoilers for Silo season 2, episode 6

The new episode brought us mostly a story set in Silo 18. That’s not surprising with everything that is going on there. This storyline has the most action at the moment, although we do need to see Juliette get back home at some point.

We get to see how Walker is sure that Juliette died. She didn’t give the tape to Juliette to allow her to survive outside. She gave it to Juliette so that she would have the dignity to die on the other side of the hill. Walker is sure that’s what happened, which suggests that she believes the world is as toxic as the screen shows.

However, others aren’t too sure.

‘Silo’ Gets Season 3 and Season 4 Renewal, But There Is a Catch!
Image
Silo is a very popular American dystopian series that premiered on May 5, 2023, on Apple TV+. It is based on the eponymous sci-fi series written by Hugh Howey. Currently, the series has two seasons, with the second one still airing. The first season aired from May 5, 2023, to June 30, 2023, while the second season premiered on November 15, 2024, and will air until January 17, 2025.

The second season is currently a hit with viewers, and fans have been wondering about the future of the show. There had been some recent rumors that the third season was already being worked on, but until today, we haven’t known the fate of the series.

In light of that fact, we can confirm that Silo has been renewed for both Season 3 and Season 4, which means that the series will be back for two more seasons, but it has – sadly – also been confirmed that the fourth season will also be the series’ final season.

Review: Silo ratchets up the tension with riots and revelations in Episode 205, "Descent"
Image
Another episode of Silo is out today on Apple TV+, and it should come as no surprise that it's another good hour of television. At this point in Silo's second season, it's almost starting to feel redundant to sing its praises; this has been a rock solid season for Apple's sci-fi show, and it's showing no signs of slowing down.

"Descent" escalates the already high stakes across the board. There's a feeling now that we're speeding toward a bloody conclusion in the back half of the season, sparked by a manhunt for Knox (Shane McRae) and Shirley (Remmie Milner), two of the leaders from Mechanical who were framed for the murder of Judge Meadows (Tanya Moodie) in last week's episode, "The Harmonium." It would be very convenient for Mayor Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins) if Knox and Shirley were strung up by an angry mob he whipped up to...

Review: Silo season 2 hits a breaking point in Episode 204 "The Harmonium"
Image
The fourth episode of Silo's second season, "The Harmonium," is a pivotal turning point. Over the past few weeks we've watched as Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) arrived at the neighboring Silo 17 and befriended Solo (Steve Zahn), the last living survivor of his Silo and her only hope of getting the materials she needs to build a suit to return home. Meanwhile, rebellion is brewing in Silo 18. As people demand answers and Mayor Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins) is forced to crack down, he makes a shocking power play that puts Knox (Shane McRae) and Shirley (Remmie Milner) in the crossfire.

It should surprise no one that "The Harmonium" is another great episode of Silo, even if it does bid farewell to one of my new favorite characters. Read on for our review, which contains Spoilers.

‘Silo’ Season Two Review: A Merely Adequate Post-Apocalyptic Dystopia
Image
At 10 protracted episodes, set inside a concrete structure reaching 144 levels underground to insulate thousands from the toxic world above, Silo’s first season was a fundamentally by-the-numbers dystopia. And in the wake of Amazon’s Fallout, it’s not even the only series on television that pivots on subterranean retrofuturism. In its sophomore season, though, Silo builds some momentum by broadening the scope of the shelter’s infighting.

Last season, engineer and ex-sheriff Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) was exiled from the silo and, in full view of exterior camera feeds, didn’t die like so many others before her. Instead, she trudged out of sight into the wasteland beyond, becoming a symbol of rebellion for the downtrodden workers in the silo’s lowest Mechanical levels. The resulting powder keg invigorates the series, deemphasizing the overarching mystery in favor of dramatic irony—namely, that the hope that Juliette’s survival stokes is false.

Silo Cast Explain Relevance of Apple TV Sci-Fi Series Ahead of Season 2
Image
Despite being set in a sprawling underground silo years after an apocalyptic event destroyed the Earth's surface, Apple TV+'s Silo still holds special relevance to current events and the world we live in and not just because we're all slowly becoming doomsday preppers. The ending of Season 1 saw Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) leave the vault and journey to the surface, while the residents of the silo were on the cusp of a full-blown riot. Much was revealed about the underground vault and its corrupt political system. But, thanks to giant screens around the silo, the inhabitants know very little truthful information about the world above.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Silo stars Shane McRae and Remmie Milner discussed what makes the sci-fi series so relevant. "I think the idea of what is truth and I mean specifically, is whats on the screen truth," said McRae. The founders of the silo used...

Silo: Season 2
Image
Streaming on: Apple TV+

Episodes viewed: 9 out of 10

Following that doozy of a cliffhanger last year, Silo finally returns to Apple TV+ with a second season that, thankfully, rewards the wait. The first season established some captivating foundations: based on Hugh Howey's book trilogy, it charted the aftermath of an apocalyptic event, which forced thousands to co-exist in a strictly governed underground bunker known as the silo. This second instalment — which adapts parts of Howey’s books Wool and Shift — further fleshes out the mythos while introducing fascinating new additions.

Creator and showrunner Graham Yost instantly turns the temperature up on this pressure-cooker of a dystopia. In the fallout of Jules (Rebecca Ferguson) being banished from the silo, tensions quickly boil over between Mayor Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins) and his cronies. Where the first season took a more procedural route, unravelling the central slow-burn mystery, this second run takes a more action-packed approach,...

‘Silo’ Season 2 Trailer: Rebecca Ferguson Meets a Threatening Steve Zahn
Image
The first “Silo” Season 2 trailer promises to build on that jaw-dropping Season 1 cliffhanger with even more surprises, including Steve Zahn as a survivor from another silo.

The tag for the trailer finds Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette taking refuge in another silo after venturing outside. There, she comes across a fellow survivor played by Steve Zahn, but he may not be so friendly.

Elsewhere Tim Robinson’s “head of It” is trying to quell a simmering rebellion after the entire silo saw Juliette go over the hill instead of dying like everyone else who’s ever left the silo.

“Season 2 is dark. It’s a bonkers exciting season,” Ferguson told TheWrap of the new season. “It is huge, man.”

The actress is under contract for four seasons which would hope to complete the adaptation of Hugh Howey’s book series, but so far “Silo” has only been renewed through Season 2.

British Shows, Including Baby Reindeer and The Gentlemen, Are Among Netflix's Most Streamed
Image
The British are ruling Netflix, at least when it comes to the streaming charts. According to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos (via Deadline), the streamer's top four most-watched series for the first half of the year all hailed from across the pond. Episodes of Netflix's British hits Fool Me Once, Bridgerton, The Gentlemen, and Baby Reindeer collectively racked up 360 million views from January through June 2024. These numbers and the streamer's other most-watched shows for the first half of the year will be released by Netflix later this week.

Sarando spoke on the numbers while appearing at the Royal Television Society London Convention, where he also sang the British entertainment industry's praises, calling the UK "one of the best countries in the world for TV and film." Despite lagging behind the BBC in the UK market, Sarandos expressed optimism about reaching a 25% market share by keeping "the audience upfront." According to an August report from Deadline,...
