Muichiro Tokito was Singlehandedly Responsible for Making One of the Best Support Characters Quit the Demon Slayer Corps
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains major spoilers from the Demon Slayer manga. Read ahead at your own discretion!

Demon Slayer is one of those series that unfortunately focuses on the main fighting character groups and not the ones who provide them with a helping hand. Specifically in the show, apart from the main characters like Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, the Hashiras also play a very prominent role.

The Hashira | Credits: Studio Ufotable

Amongst the Hashira, Muichiro Tokito is the youngest and therefore has the biggest potential to surpass the other Hashiras. Well, he could have done that if he survived the battle against the Upper Moon Rank One demon, Kokushibo. Though he died tragically in the same way as Gojo Satoru, he inadvertently played a part in making a certain character give up her dreams of joining the Demon Slayer Corps.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki was a Visionary for Giving a Chance to the Youngest Hashira in Demon Slayer After How Quickly He Became His Favorite
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains Demon Slayer Manga spoilers.

The massive popularity and the commercial success of Demon Slayer is extraordinary. Besides the spectacular animation, what hooked fans to the series were the characters. The series had an easy-to-understand power structure that categorized the characters as either good or evil. The demons represented evil, while the Demon Slayer Corps and the Hashira fought for justice. The Demon Slayer corps were extremely strong, especially the Hashira, but it’s intriguing how their leader wasn’t ever able to fight.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki was the head of the Demon Slayers, but he was battling with a life-threatening disease, and that prevented him from engaging in fights. Even then, he led the Hashira through his foresight and his exemplary vision. He had an eye for talent, and the youngest Hashira best exemplifies Kagaya’s exceptional foresight.

Demon Slayer: What to Expect From The Infinity Castle Movie Trilogy
Image
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been an iconic battle shonen anime since it first debuted on April 6, 2019. Four seasons later, Demon Slayer is regarded as one of the biggest modern anime and one of the decade’s defining series.

The show chronicles Tanjiro Kamado’s heroic efforts to join the Demon Slayer Corps to avenge his slain family and help his younger sister, Nezuko, turn back into a human after she’s suffered a frightening fate and become a demon herself. The Demon Slayer anime recently wrapped up its Hashira Training Arc season, which was met with the exciting announcement that the following saga – the Infinity Castle Arc – would be adapted into a trilogy of feature films, rather than a more conventional fifth season.

There were already incredibly high expectations over Demon Slayer’s adaptation of the Infinity Castle Arc – the manga’s most popular story – even before...

Demon Slayer Hashira Training Redefines the Concept of Anime Filler With Scenes That Should Have Been in the Manga
Image
Demon Slayer's new season adds meaningful depth to the current arc with unique filler scenes. Ufotable incorporates valuable life lessons within these filler scenes in the Hashira Training arc. The emotional struggles of Hashiras, combined with life lessons, set a new standard for fillers in anime adaptations.

New episodes of the Demon Slayer's Hashira Training arc are being released every week and Uftoable once again doesn't fail to provide quality with each episode. In contrast, Ufotable has gone above and beyond the basic requirements of providing top-quality animation with Demon Slayer's newest season by adding new, anime original scenes. These anime original scenes, which make up almost ninety percent of the recent episodes, could also be considered filler content.

Though fillers in anime are generally defined as bad due to their tendency to stray away from the original narrative by providing invaluable context, Demon Slayer Hashira Training...

Demon Slayer Season 4 is Using Filler Episodes to Conclude Some of the Best Character Arcs
Image
Demon Slayer season 4 has offered a lot of chances to witness growth in the series. This growth can be seen through characters who play roles both major and minor. The focus on Tanjiro’s character isn’t the only place where fans get to witness the depth in which many whose names also became forgettable after a point.

Muichiro Tokito | Credit: Ufotable

While it is not to say that the character in itself was forgettable, the fact that their role was too small to acknowledge. However, the series, especially Ufotable, has taken it upon themselves to take these minute panels and turn them into so much more. After Tengen Uzui, the latest example of this is through Muichiro Tokito’s character.

Utilizing Fillers for Growth in Demon Slayer

‘Demon Slayer’ Season 4 Episode 4 Recap & Ending Explained
Image
While taking time to set the stage and stakes for the inevitable final conflict between Muzan Kibutsuji’s horde of demons and the Demon Slayers led by the Hashiras, the fourth season of Demon Slayer has progressed at a relatively slower pace, but with the fourth episode, we can’t help but feel that the anime adaptation is really stretching the very barest of plot points to make an entire episode. With bare minimum action and not much character work either, this doesn’t feel like the way to deal with one of the most popular anime in recent years, and with such slow pacing from a ten-episode-long season, a fan outcry is bound to happen sooner or later.

Previously, Tanjiro had completed his training with former Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui and provided the amateur Demon Slayer trainees with some solid motivation to match up with Tengen’s stringent training regime.

Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 4 Review – To Bring a Smile to One’s Face
Image
This Demon Slayer review contains spoilers.

“There are no do-overs in a fight against demons.”

Demon Slayer‘s Hashira Training Arc has been one of the anime’s most highly-anticipated seasons, which has made its subdued structure a strangely frustrating experience. It’s essential for shonen heroes to put in the work and learn how to overcome their limitations. It’s a formula that works best in small doses, rather than devoting an entire season to such prep work. In doing so, Demon Slayer’s fourth season operates like the inverse of its second and third seasons — both of which hinged on major battles that lasted for significant stretches of the season. In the case of Demon Slayer’s Swordsmith Village Arc, nearly the entire season was consumed by one huge multi-part assault. It’s smart for Demon Slayer to attempt to do something different, but this decision has opened...

Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc Episode 4 gives fans a fresh look at Muichiro Tokito after the events of the Swordsmith Village arc. After the gruesome battle that took place, he was left with an overflow of lost memories. This put Tokito in a spot of finding himself once again. Seeing him as a Hashira is something the latest season has already provided the fans. However, getting to see him as the person he has now become isn’t something fans experienced until now.

Episode 4 – To Bring a Smile to One’s Face, has Tanjiro going to the Mist Hashira in order to continue his training. The atmosphere, the moment he enters, is a complete contrast from that of what Tengen’s training held. His was more chaotic and enthralling, tiresome even. ‘Demon Slayer’ Season 4 Episode 1 Recap And Spoilers
Image
The preparation to defeat the king of the demons, Kibutsuji Muzan, has officially begun, as Demon Slayer returns with its fourth season after a year-long break. As seen in the final moments of the third season Swordsmith Village arc, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Genya, and Tokito were able to free the village from the terror of the fourth demon moon, Hantengu, and all his clones. However, during the conflict, Nezuko was exposed to sunlight, and while Tanjiro feared for his sister’s fate (due to her demonic affliction) Nezuko remained unaffected, becoming the only known demon to survive and stay immune from sunlight. This inadvertently attracts the attention of Muzan, who wants to gain Nezuko’s ability by any means, as it would make him truly invincible and immortal. In order to prevent that from happening, the novice demon slayers need to be trained by the Hashiras. Additionally, Lady Tamayo finds success...

Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc Episode 1 Review – An Ambitious Beginning with a Dark Twist
Image
Demon Slayer fans have been waiting for quite a long time now for the fourth season to finally arrive. Much to their luck, the first episode of the same is everything they have been expecting the Hashira Training arc to hold for them. Ufotable has always been commended for animating Koyoharu Gotouge’s iconic manga in the most mesmerizing way possible. As such, the first episode is a strong start to set up what is to come.

Season 3 ended on a rather joyous note with Nezuko learning about her abilities more. In a desperate attempt to save Tanjiro, she jumped away from the shadows and into the rising sun. While anime-only fans would have found themselves clutching onto their chairs anxiously, others knew what was to come as Nezuko and the rest learn about her ability of standing under the sun.

Who Killed Demon Slayer's Upper Rank 4?
Image
Demon Slayer's third season revolves around the most powerful opponent Tanjiro and Nezuko have yet to face: the Upper Moon 4 Demon, Hantengu. Knowing how vital the Village of the Swordsmiths is to the Slayer Corps' operation, it only made sense that Muzan would send his minions to wreak havoc and try to snuff out one of his greatest threats.

Not only was the Swordsmith Village infiltrated by Hantengu, but he was assisted in his mission by the Upper Rank 5 as well, Gyokko. Between the two of them, the village should have easily been annihilated, but luckily, there happened to be multiple Slayers in the area at the time—and Tanjiro and Nezuko were among them. While Tanjiro wielded the blade that would ultimately sever the Upper Rank 4's head from his neck, the fight was definitely a group effort that couldn't have been won without the combined strength of everyone involved.

Each Upper Rank's Fate at the End of Demon Slayer
Image
The ultimate villain of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Muzan Kibutsuji, didn't become personally involved in the battle wit the Demon Slayer Corps until the manga's final arc. Before that, the six Upper-Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki served as the primary antagonists for much of the story. The defeat of Enmu, Lower-Rank One, during the "Mugen Train" arc marked the last time Tanjiro Kamado would fight anyone other than the strongest demons.

However, considering the Upper-Ranks were no more than Kibutsuji's henchmen, it should come as no surprise that none of them lived to the end of the series. Not even the most powerful of Muzan's Upper-Ranks was spared from the Demon Slayer's, though before Kokushibo's death, he did manage to wipe out some pretty powerful Hashira. Let's look at each Upper-Rank's fate by the end of the Demon Slayer manga.

Are Demon Slayer's New Upper Moons Weaker Than Gyutaro?
Image
Another season of Demon Slayer has come and went, and along with major character growth and revelations for characters like Tanjiro and Nezuko came the defeat of more of Kibutsuji Muzan's Upper Moons. With the aid of the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, and Genya Shinazugawa, the Demon Slayer core won two major battles at the Swordsmith Village against Upper Moon Five Gyokko and Upper Moon Four Hantengu.

Yet despite having a higher rank than the "Entertainment District" arc's Upper Moon Six Gyutaro and thus supposedly being stronger, neither of the new Upper Moons seemed to have same impact and danger level as the series' previous Demon threats. Both Hantengu and Gyokko have unique skill sets which make it plain as to why they would give even experienced Hashira trouble, and yet despite this, both seem to be missing that extra something that made characters like Gyutaro,...

Demon Slayer: The Swordsmith Village Arc's Fights Were Underwhelming — but That's Not Ufotable's Fault
Image
Demon Slayer has easily become one of the most popular anime series of its generation, and a huge part of that has to do with its fights. In particular, the production quality behind Ufotable's animation, combined with the beautiful art style used by in the original manga, created a perfect formula for success. Season two single-handedly propelled the series to new heights thanks to its emotionally charged Hashira battles, and fans had extremely high expectations for season three because of that.

With season three's finale now in hindsight, much of those expectations weren't met. It could just be the case that sights were simply set too high to ever be reachable, but that's too simple an excuse. On the other hand, it is easy to point the blame at the animation studio itself, being that at least half of the credit to the series' successful anime adaptation rightfully belongs to Ufotable for its success.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 11 Review – A Connected Bond: Daybreak and First Light
Image
This Demon Slayer review contains spoilers.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 11

“Thank goodness, right?”

“Don’t run away from your responsibilities.”

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s third season finale, “A Connected Bond: Daybreak and First Light,” begins with a fiery threat from Tanjiro to Hantengu: “Don’t run away from your responsibilities.” This may seem like a silly order to command in the height of combat, but it’s the guiding force and larger theme that holds together this finale–and the season as a whole.

The importance of perseverance and never giving up is pretty par for the course with shonen protagonists and it’s hardly a groundbreaking revelation. That being said, it’s still enough to give focus to this finale’s many fighters, whether it’s Nezuko, Tokito, Tanjiro, or even Muzan Kibutsuji. “A Connected Bond: Daybreak and First Light” has its share of highs and lows,...

Demon Slayer Proves One Hashira's Incredible Power Against a Big Threat

Demon Slayer: Muichiro's Solo Win Puts the Other Hashira to Shame
Image
The following contains spoilers for Demon Slayer's "Swordsmith Village" anime arc, now streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix.

In the world of Demon Slayer, the Hashira are renowned as the strongest warriors in the Demon Slayer Corps. Each Hashira possesses remarkable skills and power, but it is Muichiro who steals the spotlight in Episode 9 with his remarkable feat of defeating Upper Moon Five, and without any help. This extraordinary accomplishment sets a new standard for the other Hashira, pushing the boundaries of what was previously thought possible.

The "Swordsmith Village" arc mainly revolves around the demons' surprise attack on the isolated village of the swordsmiths responsible for forging Nichirin swords. Demon Slayer's Most Tragic Origin Story Is Not Tanjiro's

Warning: Spoilers for Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, episode 8Demon Slayer pauses the action to take a moment to dive into Muichiro Tokito's backstory, and he's proving to have an even more tragic past than Tanjiro. Meanwhile, Tokito has been stuck facing off with the Upper Five demon alone, accompanied only by swordsmiths who are more liability than asset in a fight.

The Mist Hashira has spent a significant portion of his fight imprisoned in a strange water pot, unable to breathe, but finally managed to break out with the help of a youngster from the village, who offered him a little air. Demon Slayer: The Japanese Kanji "Mu" in Muichiro, Explained
Image
Something interesting about Japanese kanji is how versatile they are. Just one of them can carry various meanings and can therefore be applied in multiple scenarios. They can become even more versatile when combined with other kanji.

This aspect of kanji was made apparent in a recent episode of Demon Slayer. A flashback involving Muichiro Tokito's twin brther Yuichiro revealed the dual meaning behind the mu ( 無) in his name. This definition makes perfect sense to Japanese fans. As for foreign audiences, their understanding of the wordplay at work is a mixed bag. To clear things up for English speakers, here's what Muichiro's name means and how the concept of Mu is used.

‘Demon Slayer’ Season 3, Episode 8 Recap & Ending, Explained: Did Muichiro Face The Upper Moon Demon?
Image
Childhood trauma plays a big part in influencing children to grow up a certain way and often also impacts the person they become when they mature into full-fledged adults. Much like real life, the younglings in Demon Slayer, at least the ones who survived the harsh lives of early 20th-century Japan with the added stress of man-eating demons, have been hardwired a certain way. Like the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, whose entire family was massacred by a demon, the Mist Hashira Muichjiro Tokito also suffered a similar fate at ten years of age. As Aniplex released the eighth episode of Demon Slayer, we took a ride back to Tokito’s childhood to find out why his head is full of mist and why his eyes are always glossed over.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 7 Review: Awful Villain
Image
This Demon Slayer review contains spoilers.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 7

“You don’t need a reason to help people.”

At first glance, the title of the latest Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba episode, “Awful Villain,” has a very straightforward meaning. Hantengu and Gyokko represent some of the deadliest demons that Tanjiro has ever faced, but “Awful Villain” asks the audience to consider if it’s perhaps Tanjiro and Nezuko who are the real enemies in this story. “Awful Villain” is a Demon Slayer entry that’s still dense in combat and twists. However, the episode’s primary goal is to argue that the recent massacres of these Upper Rank demons are actually justified and are for the greater good, while the “heroes” represent the real problem.

This is a powerful idea to entertain, but it’s unfortunately not fresh territory for the shonen series. Demon Slayer has successfully made its audience empathize with past villains,...

Image
Perhaps the most popular anime on Netflix right now, Aniplex’s Season 4 of Demon Slayer, released its seventh episode today. The young demon slayers and Hashiras are stuck fighting two Upper Moons who’ve invaded the Swordsmith Village. In the previous episode, Tanjiro had finally located the main demon that needed to be decapitated to kill Upper Moon Four Hantengu, but this episode brings a way harder challenge for the young slayer. Elsewhere, Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito has been stuck inside the blood demon art of Upper Moon Five, Gyokko, and he’s about to suffocate inside the water prison. Can Tanjiro, Genya, and Nezuko take down Hantengu? Is Tokito able to come back alive from the water prison? Let’s find these answers in the detailed recap of the seventh episode.

Demon Slayer Puts Other Shonen to Shame With Genius Villain Twist
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, episode 6As Demon Slayer's attack on the Swordsmith Village continues, Tanjiro makes a major discovery about one of the attacking demons, and the nature of its ability is just another example of what sets the series apart from its shonen peers.

The Swordsmith Village has been under attack by two of the Upper Ranked members of the Twelve Kizuki, the strongest demons at Muzan's disposal. However, both of these demons have proven themselves to be a handful, particularly Demon Slayer's Upper Four demon known as Hantengu, whose ability allowed him to divide up into four different demons themed around his emotions. Decapitating these demons, even simultaneously, has proven to be an ultimately ineffective method of defeating them, despite that usually being the key to victory in Demon Slayer. Episode 6 has revealed why that hasn't been working, though, and the truth is pretty strange.

‘Demon Slayer’ Season 3, Episode 6 Recap & Ending, Explained: Did The Demon Slayers Kill The Demons?
Image
Aniplex’s passion project Demon Slayer dropped its sixth episode today, and it’s mostly one-sided this time. The Swordsmith Village has been attacked by two Upper Moon demons, and as Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya battle the four clones of Hantengu, Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito is trapped inside a water prison by the vase-demon Gyokko. The episode is mostly dominated by Genya, with almost the entire attention being focused on the young kids’ attempt to kill Hantengu, and we only briefly see Gyokko sadistically laugh as Tokito fails to escape the water prison. What happens when Genya and Tanjiro join forces against the four clones who’ve started healing their severed heads? Find out in this week’s episode of Demon Slayer.

Demon Slayer Introduces its Most Twisted Threat Yet
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, episode 5Demon Slayer's latest arc has featured two demons who've already proven themselves to be incredibly difficult adversaries to defeat, but the only thing that can match a demon's battle prowess is the disgusting depths to which they will sink. In that regard, Upper Five demon Gyokko may be one of the most disturbed of the lot--and that's really saying something.

Gyokko has already been causing problems, disguising himself as a simple vase before devouring anyone unfortunate enough to get close. On top of that, he's also able to use his Blood Demon Art to create fish demon minions, which have proven pretty dangerous to the unskilled fighters of the Swordsmith Village on their own, leading to a gory bloodbath without Demon Slayers for protection. But as he faces off with the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, Gyokko takes a moment...

Demon Slayer's Tanjiro Finds a Clue On How To Beat One Unstoppable Demon
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, episode 4The latest enemies in Demon Slayer have proven exceptionally difficult to deal with--even surviving a beheading from the Mist Hashira himself. Tanjiro has just made a big leap forward, however, as he's learned a big clue as to how these new demons operate.

The demons that Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya are currently up against began as a single demon, the Upper Four known as Hantengu who breaks one of Demon Slayer's biggest rules. After the beheading, which normally kills a demon, the creature instead regenerated from both parts, creating two new demons. They divided further into four, each with distinct powers and a certain marking on their tongues. While they initially had Tokito, the Mist Hashira, with them, he was blown away by one of the demon's fans, sending him far off into the mountains, where it will take some time to return from.

Kimetsu no Yaiba, or Demon Slayer, is famous for demons that are infamously cruel and swordsmen who are unflinchingly brave in the toughest times. Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 5 Review: Bright Red Sword
Image
This Demon Slayer review contains spoilers.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 5

“You have no eye for beauty, you damn ape!”

Teamwork is a vital tenet that’s helped the Demon Slayer Corps survive for as long as it has. Tanjiro has never discouraged another warrior’s help on the battlefield, but the battle against Upper Rank Hantengu has been unique in the sense that he’s literally divided himself into four separate fighters. Additionally, Gyokko’s grotesque fish warriors terrorize an entire village in tandem. “Bright Red Sword” marks some of Demon Slayer’s teamwork at its very best in a scenario where everyone contributes to combat in their own way, which unfortunately in this case may cost one member of the group their humanity in the process.

The previous Demon Slayer installment doesn’t struggle to establish the dangers of Hantengu. These threats are still very much a concern in “Bright Red Sword,...

How Can Demon Slayer's Genya Shinaguzawa Regenerate?
Image
The following contains spoilers for Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Episode 4, "Thank you, Tokito," now streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix.

With a setting based on demons and the humans trying to make them extinct, Demon Slayer is plenty familiar with peculiar abilities -- especially on the demon side. But while the Demon Slayer Corps' techniques also vary depending on the Hashira, they are mostly swordsmanship styles referred to as Breathing Techniques. However, one Demon Slayer -- the recently introduced Genya -- differs from the others. Not only does he use a gun in combat, but he also has an interesting regenerative ability.

The Swordsmith Village that produces the Demon Slayer Corps' Nichirin swords is hidden in a secret, isolated location. It is only known to a select few, and even the Demon Slayers stationed near it don't know its exact place. This is to ensure the swordsmiths' safety, since they possess...

Demon Slayer: How Tanjiro Persuaded Tokito to Rescue Kotetsu
Image
At the end of Episode 3 of Demon Slayer's "Swordsmith Village" arc, the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito made the decision to save the young swordsmith in training Kotetsu from a demon attack rather than head back toward the main battle with Upper Moon Four. Tokito's choice, which went against his calculating and utilitarian nature, was clearly impacted by his conversation with Tanjiro earlier in the episode.

Demon Slayer's New Fight is So Gory It's An R-Rated Bloodbath
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, episode 4The trend of devastatingly brutal battles in Demon Slayer isn't letting up, as the big fight for the fate of the Swordsmith Village begins in earnest. In fact, this may be one of the bloodiest and most violent battles to date, and it's only barely started.

Demon Slayer's unbeatable Upper Four demon Hantengu began his assault on the village by sneaking in and looking pathetic; the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito seemingly defeated him in an instant, but all that happened instead was that he regenerated into two different demons, which split further into four demons. With only Tokito, Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya available to defend the village, that meant the group was already pushed to the limit--and they hadn't even found out about Upper Five Gyokko, who is lurking outside the village and unleashing minion demons created through his Blood Demon Art.

Demon Slayer  Season 3 Episode 4 Review: Thank You, Tokito
Image
This Demon Slayer review contains spoilers.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 4

“Just don’t let your chance slip away…”

Demon Slayer knows how to celebrate action and it’s in the middle of a major clash against multiple top-tier tyrants. Demon Slayer has approached big battles from unique angles and the intensified feud against Hantengu and Gyokko continues to defy expectations. In “Thank You, Tokito,” the Demon Slayers are divided in distinct battle plans, but just because they’re physically separated doesn’t mean that their swords don’t symbolically swing in tandem with every strike.

Hantengu’s Upper Rank underlings fire off a myriad of Demon Blood Arts that include sonic sound blasts, high-velocity gusts of wind, and electrically-charged staffs. Alternatively, the heroes each rely upon their own eclectic tactics – prayer, strategy, and experimentation – that allow them to individually excel before they all come together as a united front to...

Demon Slayer's New Threat Breaks One Big Series Rule
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, episode 3One of Demon Slayer's most foundational rules has been that there are only two ways to kill a demon: expose them to sunlight or chop off their head with a Nichirin sword. However, the Upper Four demon Hantengu has proven that at least one of those won't always guarantee success.

Hantengu is introduced as little more than a sniveling worm, leading one to wonder just how such a pathetic creature has attained a high rank in Muzan's hierarchy. His pathetic appearance even threw off Tanjiro and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito for a moment, as neither was quite sure whether he was a threat at first. However, as Tokito drew his blade and proceeded to land a perfectly executed beheading with his Nichirin and the powerful Demon Slayer's Mist Breathing technique, Hantengu's head goes flying off from his body--and then both regenerate,...

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 3 Review: A Sword from Over 300 Years Ago
Image
This Demon Slayer review contains spoilers.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 3

“Because helping others eventually ends up being good for me.”

“Demon” is a term that gets thrown around a lot in anime, but right from the start of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba there’s never been any doubt that this series’ take on these monsters doesn’t hold back. There are dozens of battle shonen series that set up clear trajectories where various tiers of demons must be defeated. However, Demon Slayer makes sure that its monsters aren’t just frightening foes, but rather uniquely vexing villains that are legitimately challenging to defeat. Demon Slayer has evolved far beyond the point where decapitations or blade impalings mark the end of a battle. If anything, these drastic acts have become foreplay for the greater difficulties that the Upper Rank Demons pose. “A Sword from Over 300 Years Ago” reminds the...

Demon Slayer Season 3: What to Know About the Swordsmith Village Arc
Image
This article contains spoilers from the Demon Slayer manga.

Now that Demon Slayer has slashed its way through two seasons, the trailer for season 3 is giving us a preview of some pretty sick moves and even sicker demons.

Gotoge Koyoharu’s manga, which was adapted by Ufotable, has already leapt off the page and into fantastic swordfighting action that will only level up as more demons are unleashed. The Swordsmith Village arc that will be featured this season isn’t nearly as tame as it sounds. This village is teeming with demons, and not just any demons, but the dreaded Twelve Kizuki that make up the upper ranks of Kibutsuji’s army. If it is anything like the manga, it will also be the season Inosuke shows more of his actual face than ever.

Season 3 premieres on Crunchyroll April 9. Grab your sword and get ready to face off against some terrifying forces of evil.
