Andre Ingram
Former Los Angeles Lakers guard and current South Bay Lakers player Andre Ingram racked up some significant cash winnings on Wheel of Fortune. Ingram was a guest on Friday’s Secret Santa edition of the show, where he proved to be a natural at guessing word clues. While he failed to solve the game’s final puzzle, Ingram still walked away with an impressive $31,750, which will be donated to one lucky fan. Speaking after the episode, Ingram said he was “probably more nervous” doing Wheel of Fortune than playing basketball. “You know, basketball, you’re so used to it. I’ve been doing it for years. This is like, you know, once in a lifetime.” Tonight’s Secret Santa episode was a slam dunk for André! He won over $31,000! There were two big winners for the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
While the NBA basketball team was pounding the Oklahoma City Thunder, beating them 116-95, former Lakers guard and current South Bay Lakers player Andre Ingram was a cash winner on the syndicated game show Wheel of Fortune.
Ingram appeared Friday as a guest for the “Secret Santa” episode of the show. He won $31,750, missing out on a potential $39,000 by failing to solve the game’s final puzzle.
Ingram said he would donate the lump sum to a fan, but specifics were not immediately available on the how and when of that.
After the show, Ingram confessed to more nerves about the TV show than playing in the NBA.
Ingram is currently trying to get back in the league, and is the NBA G-League’s all-time leader in 3-pointers.

Exclusive: Wme has signed Andre Ingram, whose inspirational underdog story it will package for a book and potentially for TV or film. Ingram spent a decade in the NBA G League before receiving a call from Magic Johnson last month that the Lakers wanted to sign him for their final two games. Johnson dangled the chance that Ingram might stay with the team next season. His NBA debut was incredible: Ingram nailed four three-point shots and finished with 19 points, electrifying fans that included his wife and two daughters. The crowd chanted “M-v-p,” and Ingram became a national story overnight.
Ingram, who when he isn’t draining threes is a math tutor for kids, played in the G League on the heels of graduation from American University, where he received a degree in physics. He played 384 games in the League, and holds the all-time record of 713 three-pointers.
