Filming has started for the fourth season of HBO and BBC's hit series Industry. Co-creator Konrad Kay shared the news on his X account. He posted an image of a clapperboard with the production date and the season number, confirming that the season was indeed in production. Filming began on March 24 in England. Kay and his creative partner, Mickey Down, return to collaborate on Industry Season 4. Apart from writing, they also serve as directors on various episodes of the show, including the one shown on the clapperboard. Details about what the fourth season entails are scarce, but cast shakeups hint at a new direction as new characters join and old ones depart.

However, Harry Lawtey won't be back, and Max Minghella has also joined the cast for season 4.

Channel 4 has renewed Simon Bird-starring apocalypse comedy Everyone Else Burns and greenlit a Rosie Jones sitcom titled Disability Benefits produced by Sharon Horgan.

Produced by Broad City maker Jax Media and Universal International Studios, Everyone Else Burns follows a family led by patriarch David (The Inbetweeners’ Bird) who are part of a religious sect known as The Order. It has been warmly praised for a light-touch, sensitive approach to the topics and Deadline revealed the first run was picked up by The CW in the U.S., although the network hasn’t yet picked up Season 2.

In Season 2, David’s daughter Rachel (Amy James-Kelly) searches for a new direction, there is a rebellion that could radically alter the entire congregation and the return of a figure from the past who could shape the family’s future.

The CW’s fall 2023-2024 primetime schedule looks nothing like the network’s previous lineups. Gone are all the comic book-inspired superhero series, and in their place are British and Canadian imports along with unscripted reality shows.

All American is the only original The CW scripted series to appear on the upcoming season’s roster. Walker, which was recently renewed for a shorter season, will return midseason. And the network still hasn’t decided what to do about Gotham Knights, All American: Homecoming, or Superman & Lois.

These are the words mum Fiona uses to describe the plan to her terrified daughter in the opening scenes of Everyone Else Burns, as dad David takes them on what the children don’t yet realise is a middle-of-the-night apocalypse training exercise rather than the real thing.

As sitcom openings go, it throws us straight into the action, and while the scene is disappointingly lacking in decent jokes, Channel 4’s latest comedy confidently establishes the Lewis family’s life in a super-strict apocalyptic religious cult.

Bleecker Street has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to “Military Wives,” a British, feel-good drama starring Kristin Scott Thomas that made its premiere at Tiff on Friday, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

Several distributors chased the film following its premiere screening, and Bleecker Street plans to release the film theatrically.

“Military Wives” is about a group of British wives whose husbands are serving overseas in Afghanistan and decide to form a choir in their absence. Their joy for singing soon inspires a media sensation and a global movement. The film is directed by Peter Cattaneo (“The Full Monty”) and written by Rosanne Flynn and Rachel Tunnard.

Sharon Horgan, Greg Wise and Jason Flemyng co-star in “Military Wives,” and the story is inspired by other similar choirs composed of military wives.

“We don’t have the privilege to be against the war,” tuts a British wife to a peace activist. “We’re married to it.” Technically, she means married to an active-duty soldier, but as far as “Military Wives” director Peter Cattaneo is concerned, there’s little to distinguish the Afghanistan-sent men these left-to-fend-for-themselves ladies love from the machine that deploys them. When their spouses lose communication, each wife on the base gets an impersonal text at the same time, a chorus of pings and buzzes that simultaneously spook every house.
