Indie streamer Nebula is expanding its scripted slate with a dark “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse”-esque comedy series from popular creator and YouTube star Maggie Mae Fish.
Per Nebula’s description for the “kids’ show for adults” series, “Welcome to ‘Amy’s Dead-End Dreamhouse,’ where a millennial navigating mental illness, job hunting, and impossible beauty standards gets life advice from her sentient household objects, unhinged guests, and surreal commercial breaks—turning adulthood into a fever-dream comedy.”
The six-episode series stars Maggie Mae Fish as the titular Amy, as well as Natalie Palamides, Bill Corbett, and Paul F. Tompkins. Special guests for “Amy’s Dead-End Dreamhouse” include Katya, Ify Nwadiwe, Jamie Loftus and Percy Rustomji. Musical guests include Tessa Violet and Sunder.
“Amy’s Dead-End Dreamhouse” is created by Fish and Will Reese, who together serve as showrunners. Fish writes the scripts alongside Bailey Norton. Executive producers include Nebula founder and CEO Dave Wiskus and Trenton Waterson.

This Star Trek: Lower Decks article contains spoilers.
Backed into a corner by members of the USS Cerritos and affected by the same overwhelming emotions that bombard everyone else, the three Betazoid women pull out their lipsticks. Although they initially seemed like nothing more than party girls abusing their diplomatic privilege, the Betazoids extend their lipsticks into batons and leap into action, revealing themselves to be members of their planet’s secret intelligence corp. And thus, Star Trek: Lower Decks give us the first (canonical) look at the Betazed military.
The question of Betazed’s military power has been lingering since the portrayal of the Dominion War in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. That series seeded the power of the Dominion early on and slowly established the Gamma Quadrant conquerors as a real threat. But it wasn’t until the Dominion, and their Cardassian collaborators, conquered Betazed that the Federation truly took the threat seriously.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead landed her first TV gig when she was 12 years old, appearing in an episode of “Touched by An Angel.” Since then, she has spent the last 20 years in films that scaled large and small, portraying a wide range of complicated, fully realized women.
Many of these performances deserved attention on the awards landscape, such as her role as a terrorized prisoner in “10 Cloverfield Lane” and turn as an alcoholic in the drama “Smashed,” though she landed an Independent Spirit nom for the part. And it’s still puzzling how her turn Ewan McGregor’s crafty fiancée in the third season of “Fargo” managed to elude more attention.
Now, Winstead is back on the big screen with another bold turn in “All About Nina,” the feature debut from writer-director Eva Vives. So about Nina: She’s a caustic stand-up comedian who exudes confidence onstage but is less...
