With a current global haul of $491.9 million, the latest Fantastic Four reboot is ahead of several popular 2025 titles, including Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and Sinners. Despite an uneven box office run, The Fantastic Four: First Steps currently ranks as the ninth highest-grossing movie of the year.

Backed by strong reviews from critics and positive word-of-mouth, First Steps is expected to cross the coveted $500 million mark at the global box office this weekend. It was earlier this month that we first heard about a supposed clash between two actors on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. A joke was said to have been received poorly, prompting a verbal altercation that saw Marvel Studios offer the aggrieved, unnamed star the opportunity to shoot all future scenes separately.

The fact that would cost millions of dollars showed the actor that the studio had taken their complaints seriously, and it was enough for them to let bygones be bygones. Both parties reportedly shook hands and moved on, but speculation ran rampant online about who was involved.

Back in 2023, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Tenoch Huerta, who played Namor in the Marvel Studios sequel, was hit with some very serious allegations by saxophonist María Elena Ríos, who accused the actor of being a "sexual predator" in a series of Tweets.

There's a lot of intrigue surrounding Avengers: Doomsday, especially as we've seen little in the way of buildup to the movie originally titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Sure, we've had a few Multiversal tales in the "Multiverse Saga," but only the post-credits scenes for Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps have really teed up Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom as the McU's new big bad.

Thunderbolts* established that the New Avengers and Sam Wilson's Avengers team are butting heads over a trademark, and according to The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, that schism will be a big plot point heading into Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps is now approaching its sixth weekend in theaters, and the MCU reboot is still hanging in there at the box office.

Despite the perception that the latest big-screen outing for Marvel's First Family underperformed (it's probably safe to assume it didn't do as well as the studio hoped it would), the movie is expected to pass the $500 million mark this weekend. Not an outstanding showing, but far from a disaster in the current box office climate.

Will we get a sequel? The team is set to return for Avengers: Doomsday, and rumor has it that director Matt Shakman has had discussions about taking the helm of another movie.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is quite vast, which means there are several angles and characters from which stories can be told. An expansion to the McU's Avengers franchise has not materialized since Avengers: Endgame in 2019. Marvel is intent on changing that narrative soon, with the addition of two Avengers movies in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Both will help wrap the Multiverse Saga of the MCU. Doomsday comes first, with a release date of late 2026 already set as fans look ahead to the return of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. However, a major MCU star has yet to hear if she will be back for the upcoming movie.

Avengers: Doomsday is turning into a superhero fest bigger than Avengers: Endgame. Most high-profile actors are either already engaged or are rumored to be attached to the project. While actors like Robert Downey Jr and Anthony Mackie treat fans with behind-the-scenes teases, some like Alan Cumming naively give out important details. However, there are a few actors who are talking about the scope of their roles. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Tenoch Huerta is among them.

Huerta made his MCU debut with Wakanda Forever as the villain Namor. There was a lot of hype around his character; thankfully, the actor’s performance and the story both justified it. His role continues in Doomsday nonetheless,...

Dafne Keen first played Laura/X-23 in 2017's Logan, and finally reprised the role in last summer's Deadpool & Wolverine. The movie ended with the mutant being reunited with her "father," Wolverine, on Earth 10005, setting the stage for Keen to hopefully reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday. 

The expectation among fans is that she'll suit up as the female Wolverine in that or perhaps even as a permanent fixture in the post-Secret Wars MCU. 

Talking to Screen Rant at Fan Expo Canada, Keen expanded on comments she made this past weekend about whether she'll return as Laura in the upcoming Avengers movies.
