Attended Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. In an interview with River's Edge in 2015, she recalled a fellow student from a painting class in the late 1960s, David. He was making films at the time and encouraged her to try to make films herself. Condit recently made the connection that David was none other than David Lynch.
