National Film Awards 2011: Winners: Deool, Byari, Aaranyakandam
Deool, Byari, Aaranyakandam, and the other winners of the 2011 National Film Awards have been announced. The 59th Annual National Film Awards, administered by the India’s Directorate of Film Festivals, is “the most prominent film award ceremony in India. Established in 1954, it is administrated by the Indian government’s Directorate of Film Festivals since 1973. Every year, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry, and the award ceremony is held in New Delhi, where the President of India gives away the awards.

This is followed by the inauguration of the National Film Festival, where the award-winning films are screened for the public. New Delhi, March 7: Nitesh Tiwari and Vikas Bahl directed "Chillar Party" was named the best children's film at the 59th National Awards announced here Wednesday. The nine child artists in the film also shared the best child artist award along with Partho Gupte, who played the lead role in "Stanley ka Dabba".

"Chillar Party" also won the prestigious award for the best original screenplay for writers Nitesh Tiwari, Vijay Maurya and Vikas Bahl.

The child artists from the film "Chillar Party" who won the award are Irfan Khan, Sanath Menon, Rohan Grover, Nama Jain, Aarav Khanna, Vishesh Tiwari, Chinmai Chandransuh, Vedant.

Chillar Party is a party of an interesting assortment of kids with equally interesting nick names like Shaolin, Silencer, Panauti and Encyclopedia in a housing society in Mumbai. This group of children takes on a local neta Bhide who is on a mission to build a ‘bhay-mukta Mumbai’ (fearless Mumbai) by chasing all stray dogs out of the boundaries of the city. On his target happens to be Bhidu, the favourite pet of the Chillar Party, and a harmless stray animal. So there is a Bhide versus Bhidu in the film and who emerges victorious is anyone’s guess.
