Father of Paul Samaras. Both were killed along with Carl Young when they were hit in their Chevy Cobalt support vehicle by a violent tornado near El Reno, Oklahoma in May 2013.

He had the same birthday as his son, Paul (thirty-one years apart).

He did not go to college after graduating from high school.

Tim, along with his son Paul, was cremated at Neptune Society in Arvada, Colorado. Their urns were given to his widow, Kathy, afterwards. Their memorial services were held at Mission Hills Church in Littleton, Colorado on June 6, 2013.
