She studied drama and cultural studies at the University of West England. But Raine then took a gap year and taught English as a second language in Thailand.

She wanted to be an actress from the age of 13.

Married her boyfriend of 5 years, Tom Goodman-Hill, in a private ceremony in London after a 1-month engagement. The bride wore a vintage ivory wedding dress and had her brunette hair in a braid. Among the guests were David Walliams, Martin Freeman, Amanda Abbington and Lauren Crace.

She was accepted into the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2008.

Was five months pregnant when she completed filming on Baptiste (2019).
