The Waysiders, a cast and crew of regulars whom Cuenca has used in his films, shorts, and music videos. The term comes from his second film ''By the Wayside'' and includes actors Joey Halter, Julie Pepin, Zach Block, Brittany Samson, Dan Rojay, Paul Elia, Frank Agnew, and cinematographers Jessica Gallant and Amberlie Bankoff.

The youngest of two full-blooded siblings and two additional half-brothers.

Cuenca's first production attempt was the incomplete ''Scenes from Oblivion'', a film showcasing a culture-clash between two Cuban-American teens. Cuenca wrote, directed, and edited the short film using funds saved from working in record shops and vintage clothing stores as a teen. The short inspired 'Oblivion'', a spin-off web series concentrating on many of its supporting characters.
